HURRICANE – Handlebar mustaches and handguns were featured Saturday in the final Cowboy Action Shooting event at the Huntsman World Senior Games.
The gunplay competition has been part of the games for seven years, said Dixie Bell, the competition alias for Dixie Miller, who is treasurer of the Dixie Desperados, the local Single Action Shooting Society club.
Members adopt aliases or nicknames and often dress in western wear “costumes” for the events.
“We’re basically just children at heart. We haven’t grown up,” Miller said.
