So then I guess that means that Varmit is such good " chest bump" buddies with the Pres. that calling him Sambo was just a term of endearment. I stand corrected. Ha.
I find it interesting that when a victim complains there is always a group of people that are happy to help that person see that he/she should "like" being a victim. Suppose the people involved were girls? Should they pull out their weapons and shoot...at age 8. Ya can be dead right ya know.
Since you are white you will naturally see things differently. How can you possible speak for another race? Shall we drop all pretense of civility and cuss and spit and ridicule each other? Then we can all pretend it meant nothing? "Wazza matter, can't ya take a joke?"  Things are tense enough now as it is. Times of bad economies create long drinks and short fuses. It's not the first time. So I am standing up for myself and my feelings. The name calling and professional ridicule just adds nothing.
Now congress people are getting threats and bricks. I thought you folks said only Democrats resort to violence when things don't suit them? Is that about to change? We fight among ourselves, we open the door for our enemies. By the way,I'm not upset, just very disappointed at about 3 different levels.

Jar, I have no doubt Varmit didn't mean black people when he called "a spade a spade"...he's too young! But I'm sure not. In the south east coast it was indeed meant as a slur, if in fact a card game wasn't going on. It started out, "That darkie was as black as the ace of spades'' and eventually shortened to a "spade" being just another derogatory term, along with many others.
Diane you are totally wrong on the term calling a Spade a Spade. There has been a lot written about that and that term has been around a long tme and had absolutely nothing to do with racism. Your response was more of your liberal views coming out. Go to website below and there are others on this subject:

By the way Diane, your greater than thou Christian Joe Biden showed his real Chritianity and intellgence in front of the world yesterday didn't he.

Diane Amberg

I don't know about the "greater than thou part" All politicians are like that, but he surely did stick his foot in it. He should know better, and I promise you he'll hear about it when he comes home.

Ok, I read the article. It did mention that the spade phrase was an old slur. How could I be wrong when I  heard it used myself as a kid? Some of the local back woods hillbillies used every slur there was. Oxford and Rising Sun were rampant with Klan members in those days.

ELK@KC

They used it how, how do you know what there intent was.  I heard that term used many times and it had nothing to do with racism. I have lots of African-American friends and they have told me they get tired of the liberal left telling them  that the white people don't like them or that the Right is racist. If you think racist  all the time you are going to see what isn't there.

Ok, so you obviously don't read what people actually post. I explained my Sambo comment.

Good question. What is your answer to it, seeing as how you seem to be the local authority on what is and isn't racism and how it affects another race?  Oh, wait a minute...you're white so you can't really answer that question.

The name calling and professional ridicule just adds nothing.

Someone really should tell obama and pelosi that.  BTW, since we are kinda on the subject of name calling and ridicule where, exactly, does calling people "ill bred, uneducated white trash" come into this?  How does that help the discussion?  How does that attempt to change the double standard?
It is high time we eased the drought suffered by the Tree of Liberty. Let us not stand and suffer the bonds of tyranny, nor ignorance, laziness, cowardice. It is better that we die in our cause then to say that we took counsel among these.

Since you all threw any sort of decorum out the window, I'll just jump in and play too. Nice squishy mud...should feel right at home. Who cares, if you don't why should I? You want a double standard, have at it. You can just "suck it up" too. I expected more...I was wrong.

I think its cause he is afraid that netenyahu is going to bitch slap him.

Lordy Lordy Steve. Someone from the East coast is gonna be on you like a fly on goat poop. "Bitch slap" is a sexist remark and I heard that said on Comedy Central by a black female  comic so it's quite possible it'a racist comment too.

Diane, are you sure the Demo's are getting death threats and bricks and crap from the Right ? Are you sure it aint just typical Chicago politics and they are doing it themselves so the masses will feel sorry for them ? Kinda like when those black congressmen were maching to cast their historical vote and the mean ol  Tea Party people called them the "N" word and spit on them ?? Does it not strike you as funny that with all the cameras rolling, mic's everywhere and cops everywhere that no one---I reapeat NO ONE--heard those words said but the ones crying foul ?

Diane Amberg

For one instance that comes to mind, not that I have spent a lot of time thinking about this, the black man who was the high school janitor would get after the boys if they were up to something and they did call him a spade on more than one occasion, behind his back. The one boy, a deadbeat red head whose name I still remember, was caught by Mr. Webb, the vice principal. One other was the one black bus driver who made the kids behave. He kicked kids off the bus and got called every slur there was. This was all in the late 50's. Surely it wouldn't happen today. Varmit,I did miss your one post...went back and read it, not sure how that excuses any thing.
There is one fellow on another forum who is just as passionate about hating Bush. He totally believes that G W had explosives planted for 9-11 and swears that the buildings couldn't have come down like they did without help. He trots out all kinds of "proof" and calls anyone who doesn't hold the same opinion all sorts of names. He calls himself "The Good American."  He wants Bush arrested for homicide and really believes it! He goes on and on and on and on. What do you do about that kind of extreme thinking? He doesn't suck it up a bit well.
