Let's just sell California to China
by Jerome Corsi

With China increasingly wanting equity for debt in buying U.S. Treasuries to finance the $1.4 trillion 2009 Obama administration debt, maybe the United States ought to sell California to China.

With unemployment at nearly 10 percent nationally, California is nearly bankrupt, and the federal government is in no position to finance California's state budget deficit.

There is precedent for selling California to China: the 1803 Louisiana Purchase in which the United States paid France to acquire the Louisiana Territory, and the 1867 acquisition of Alaska from the Russian Empire, then known as "Seward's Folly" after then-Secretary of State William Henry Seward.

The problem there red, is that we would have to clear the sale with Mexico first.  Seeing as how there are so many MEXICAN citizens living in California nowadays.
It is high time we eased the drought suffered by the Tree of Liberty. Let us not stand and suffer the bonds of tyranny, nor ignorance, laziness, cowardice. It is better that we die in our cause then to say that we took counsel among these.

Just got back from there and you have no idea!!!! I felt like the minority. I wouldn't live there if someone paid all my expenses and gave me booty on top of it. Its not a place for me.

oh by the way Billy.. I love your signature line..

Selling Califormia to China would just mean we'd import more from them and it would put more profit in their pockets since they wouldn't have to ship it across the Pacific. ;D

You folks have not done your homework.  According to the latest polls, China will become the number one economy overtaking the United States sometime soon.  You also forget, even with our finances being in the toilet, that California has the sixth largest economy in the world, more than all those other countries----that's countries with a "c".  You probably should be concerned that California might have to sell the rest of the states to eliminate the drag on the economy caused by the poorer states not contributing enough to the countries well-being.

AND, Teresa, I am so sorry that you have had a bad experience while on your visit here.  It is true that we have more than our share of "fereiners", most of them are a very productive part of our society.  Like I said, If I had known you were going to be so close, I would have made the effort to meet with you and talk about our Elk County connections.  I am truly sorry I missed you.

Also, understand, California belonged to them before it belonged to us.   :D

lol, thanks larry for saving me the trouble.  Also know that California has a lot of very different parts.  Anything north of Sacramento isn't much different from a lot of parts of Kansas.

We also have Yosemite.

 ???

I thought anything north of Ventura was in Oregon!

Ah, but it is true.  We have Yosemite.  Arizona has the Grand Canyon.  Nevada has Bryce Canyon and Las Vegas. Utah has the Great Salt Lake.  Idaho has potatoes and great skiing.  Not to mention the great skiing in Colorado along with the Royal Gorge and Rocky Mountain National Park.  I could go on and on, but you get my drift.

Kansas has beautiful waves of grain, and spacious skies, and our ancestors resting places that we hold so dear.

Actually, parts of northern Cal have been trying to secede from the state for years.  For your reading pleasure....

oh Larry.. I didn't have a bad experience.. Quite the opposite... ;D
I just am spoiled  from living in Kansas. (or Howard, I should say)
. no smog.. lots of green... same nationality of people..  or at least where I am the majority..:)
I'm glad you like it there.. my friends we stayed with would not live anywhere else...
I say good for them.. it would get mighty crowded here in back woods Kansas if everyone moved here.
and I wish I had known you were so close.. maybe next year I will give you a heads up and you can come to the range and see us.. . That would be great.

Anmar, I think I might have heard of this before, but I don't remember it.  Thanks for the links, it was quite interesting.  Of the few times I have driven through that area, I remember how beautiful it really was.  We stopped at the huge redwoods area and got pictures of me driving the car through the tree----you know, that touristy stuff.  But, I would stay with SoCal ------just because.

Teresa, I will look forward to next year.  I don't live here necessarily because I like it.  Don't get me wrong.  I do like living here and my children live here and will probably live here for the rest of their lives.  What I am trying to say is------------

Many moons ago I could have changed my lifestyle, place of residence, etc.  This was between wives, after the army, and no real good job to earn decent money.  Why I chose to stay is probably because I couldn't figure out how to just pack it up and move back to -----New Mexico where I was born (no relatives there and no really close friends), or Colorado where I lived for a few years, (no relatives and few friends), or back to Howard--all kinds of relatives and many friends.  It is a shoulda-woulda-coulda kind of thing.  Suffice to say, I stayed and found a good paying job, a new wife, had two wonderful children and am quite comfortable with my surrounding environment.  Will I stay here?  Yep, my wife ain't gonna leave the granddaughters or the kids.  She doesn't appear to be ready to leave me so I (we) will stay where we are at, although there has been recent rumors of moving closer to the beach.  Wait and see, wait and see.
