The problem is that people don't want a honest politician.  One who will tell it like it is.
One who will tell his constitutents that the previous blood suckers, have driven the debt up so high with their pet projects that the jobs that they bring to the area are going to cost us in the long run more than they bring us. 
They don't want to hear that everything will NOT be alright.  They only want fluff and smoke blown up their butts just as long as it doesn't interrupt their beer and monday night football. 

If the people really wanted a honest politician, they would support the ones who go up there and say no to everything.  Shoot, i look like it like i was with my teenage boys.  They all would come in at one time or another and still do to this day saying Dad, i need some money. My response was Go get a job! 

Honest politicians can't operate in that den of thieves in washington.

  People want honest politicians...people want them to mean what they say and say what they mean.....the guy sittin and watchin football and drinkin beer has just about the best eyeball view of how good OR bad things REALLY are because they AFFECT him and his family directly.. not as an abstract statistic on some paper pushers pie chart.
  Those men AND women sittin and watchin football while drinkin beer have FINELY tuned bull*&^% detectors and they DEFinitely know when somebody is blowin smoke up their butts........ they are waitin for the day when they listen to a politician and their bull meter doesn't move!!.
  For every citizen stickin a hand out for government whatever there are FIFTY takin care of business and they don't deserve contempt for givin government the flyin finger of fate and goin back to the ballgame because it matters more to them.

I don't disagree with what anyone has said.  But, I return to my question... WHO wants to be that type of ground-breaking, no-smoke-blowing, "get off your ass and get a job" -type politician?  Anyone that honest with no bull-crap type attitude we have CUT DOWN around here on this Forum... what makes you think it will change if they run for government?

I guess my point is that people STOP focusing on politicians personal lives (and if they have birth certificates or not), and focus on the ISSUES at hand.  You still don't have to agree with them, but at least argue the issues instead of what type of gifts they give to foreign officials and how they pronounce certain words.  Instead of bashing one politician over and over and over again, how about looking and trying to find one that has the same values and beliefs in the political system as you do... and TOUT THAT PERSON!?  Let's make it a game of "my politician is good because..." rather than the same old song of "your politician sucks because..."

(BTW, now I really can't run for government... Pam has given a pregnant woman a water-cooler of beer!  And I've obviously paid Indygal off, since she called me a "gem".)
