  The fact of the matter is........it doesn't matter HOW good or bad of an idea ANYthing is......WE DON'T have the MONEY to pay for ANYthing! If the United States government was a private company the guy at the top would be movin his money to offshore accounts one step ahead of the bankruptcy lawyers. We are so far in debt to ourselves AND foreign countries that we would have to live to be 7000 years old to even make a dent in it if it was OUR PERsonal debt.......and all the creative book-keepin in creation ain't gonna make THIS work out.......
  That guy Warph posted the videos of is right on one point:The ONLY way out for ANY of us is CLEAN house! I'm talkin democrats republicans, independants...anybody who has been in the government for more than fifteen seconds needs to step off.
  I hear people sayin "Well in 2010 things are gonna CHANGE...the democrats will lose and republicans will be back in power and THEN things will get back on track" NO THEY WON'T!!! It'll be SSDD just THEIR pet projects instead of Reid and Pelosi's. Do you not think any of the creative guys who caused this collapse MIGHT have been republican or independant in their political leanings? If you think this mess was solely a democratic fiasco you are seriously deludin yourself.
   We all get in a lather and start snappin at each other and statin our opinions and blah blah blah and what good does it do? Does it change ANYthing? All it does is cause hate and discontent between people who OUGHT to be friends and stickin together against the REAL enemy which is our own government. Which is probly the way they LIKE it when you get right down to it because if we all ever got our shit together and quit bickerin amongst ourselves they would all be on unemployment!

LOL so I guess I don't need to post in politics anymore cause I think they ALL suck...what more is there to say than that?!

I agree; all this bickering between people is getting old.  All talk and no action.  People are so concerned with voting for "their" political party, that no one really considers voting for the "right" candidate.  That goes for LOCAL and STATE governments, too.  How do you think people become candidates for federal level positions?  They don't just spring out of the woodwork... no, they were state senators or house members first.  Let's start there.

Maxine and I think if you truly do not like what is going on. Lets just vote them all out the next time we get a chance to vote. Why should the good old boy, no matter what party they represent hold the office more then 4 years? We elected them by what they said they would do for us. If once elected they do not hold up their end of the deal out they go. How can people stand by an elect the same people over and over again? Maxine and I  have seen some of these people in office for 50 years. Why just because they were good a lying or we like their personality?
It is time the American people to stand up and say enough is enough. If you can't do the job the next guy might.

So, here's a question for you all... WHO really wants to be a politician in this day and age?

I mean, being a politician is like a cuss word, these days.  What other job in the US instantly allows the public and media to tear apart and over-analyze every single thing you've ever said or done?  I guarantee that NO ONE on this forum would be able to run for a political chair... they'd rip you apart based on every little sarcastic comment you posted.  Media doesn't print smiley faces or "lol"s.  They'd probably refer to this forum as a "political hate-site" or something.  Just the fact that you WERE a member on here and maybe only posted in the Coffee Shop... the fact that you were a member of a website where people posted Anti-USA threads (it doesn't matter that the comments were AGAINST Anti-USA people/programs).  Or the fact that some of us who post during work hours (no matter what our work schedule is actually like), means that we're not reliable and are taking our company for a free-ride.  Nope, we wouldn't make it past the primaries.

So... what type of people are left to run?  People with so thick of skin that they don't care what people say/think (and then what does that say about their personality?).  People who have somehow paid enough to have their past hidden (and then what does that say about what they're not telling us?).  People who try and honestly defend themselves (and then what does that say; they're lying?).  Hmm.  Not a lot of choices out there left, is there.  It's almost like we just have to vote for the "lesser of two evils".

So... how do you break this circle of Political hatred, dishonesty, and distrust?

I think it is time for term limits, but would that get us any better candidates?  It is a real mess.  One that you young people will have to solve.  My voting years are about over, but I will vote for whomever I think will do the best job, no matter what his/hers/it's politics are.

I think a limit of ONE TERM for ANY POLITICIAN is plenty.  Then when election comes around vote NONE OF THE ABOVE until they get a candidate who will tell it like it is from the very start.  oops ! ! ! Sorry ! ! !
