I just received word that I am a great great grandmother.  My second daughter's second daughter's first daughter had a baby boy this morning.  For you who knew the Weyrauch's in Severy, the new great grandmother is Jean Weyrauch Keatts.  She graduated from Severy High in 1969.

Since my Mother is a great-great grandmother, that makes me a great-great aunt. Gosh, I was a grandma at 30 and now am a great-great aunt. I can remember when this baby's grandmother was born. Oh gosh. The memories. I really think I am too, way too, young to be a great-great aunt.

Janet, the greater they are the more fun it is to spoil them.  Congratulations to you and Wilma.

Thank you. I sent my great-niece a message of congratulations. She said thank you, Aunt Janet. I told her that my name was great-great Aunt Janet. She told me that she didn't address me that way because she didn't want to make me feel old. I informed her that I felt old anyway just because she, the great-niece, was having a baby that caused me to become a great-great aunt. Ha ha  :D :D :D

Today is the opening day of the Los Angeles Dodger's season.  My son, who is a big Dodger fan, usually always gets opening day tickets.  For some reason, he did not do that this year and has invited me down to his house at the beach to enjoy snacks and watch the game on TV.

I have to go to the lab for my monthly blood test and then I will go down to the beach and spend the afternoon with my son and daughter-in-law and watch the game.  My #3 granddaughter will be in pre-school, but that's okay because I saw her yesterday at the Easter brunch at my daughter's house.

It will be nice to get away from the house and relax.

Oh well, best laid plans and all that.  I started to feel a little weak and decided that I would not go to the beach.  I just didn't want to drive the 40 miles.  So I watched the game in the comfort of my own recliner.  Dodgers won.  I did manage to get to the lab.

The reason for this post is that my pregnant daughter-in-law and my son (probably reluctantly on his part) have been trying to avoid knowing the sex of the baby.  Yesterday at my daughters house, my daughter-in-law mentioned she was going for an ultrasound this morning and I asked her if she was going to peek.  She hadn't decided.  Tonight, my son called and asked me to put the phone on speaker so his mother could hear.  They decided at the last moment of the ultrasound that they wanted to know.

They are going to be the proud parents of a son.  After three granddaughters, we will now have a grandson.  I am sure my son is thrilled because I know deep down he really wanted a son and I know that deep down he really wanted to know.

All in all a good day.

Congratulations, Larry.  Boys are so much fun, so amazing to watch the grandbabies grow up.  I went to the Zoo this weekend with three of my greatgrandkids, 2 boys, 7 and 10 and 1 girl, 5 years old.  Was amazed to see how much they know about the different animals.  It was a wonderful day with them and my daughter, their grandmother.
