My dad went through that. Will be praying.

Thank you Janet. I know you 've talked about your father before. Really sad. I'm very optimistic, but knowing too much is some times a bad thing too.

Judy Harder

Some times Diane, knowing too much is a hard place to be. But, now you know what to watch for and the Praise the Lord,
you found it early. Keep the faith and all of us wll be with you in Cyber-space if not in person. Hugs.
God be with Al and you!
Today, I want to make a difference.
Here I am Lord, use me!

Diane Amberg

Thank you Judy. I really appreciate your positive thoughts.

We went to see Les Miserables. We really enjoyed it. I can't believe what Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman went through to look right for their parts in the early scenes.
He made a wonderful Jean Valjean (what a voice) and Russell Crowe did a believable Javert. He has a better voice than I had expected. Anne Hathaway has a wonderful multi range voice and made poor Fantine come to life...or death. It's a little long for the short attention crowd, but all 15 of us in the theater loved it.

Celebrating!  I'm so glad Joe Flacco got his Super Bowl ring. That power outage really inturupted the game's rhythm and it was a squeaker, but Baltimore's big parade will be fun.

HELP!  I'm talking and I can't shut up!

Wow! It's a good thing you are "retired". ;)

Just tired.  Very tired.  Plan changed when hairdresser called and asked me to be there early.  Picked up #1 from school, went directly to the salon for the haircut.  #1 didn't have any homework.  Now............for those of you who live in colder climes, you may think I am a wimp when I say this.  At 4:00 the temperature at the baseball practice was around 60 degrees.  At 5:30 the temperature was about 55 degrees.  I was in a lawn chair wearing four layers of clothes on my upper body and I had a blanket..................and I was freezing my you-know-what off.  People around me were wishing they had blankets.  I thought one nice young lady was actually going to come over by me and share the blanket, but that didn't happen.  Too bad.  Dang it.  At the end, my son-in-law showed up to take the girls home and I came home to a warm house and a hot cup of coffee.  I was that prepared because I spent hundreds of hours at games when my kids were playing and I learned to be ready.  Too bad about the young lady because she was pretty cute.

sheesh

I hadn't planned to say anything about this, as I didn't know it would go national, but apparently it did, as some of you know about it. Some of the media information isn't quite correct, but they got it pretty close.
That's the big downtown Wilmington courthouse where Al and I have done jury duty and taught CPR and first responder to the court officers and personnel over the years.
If potential jurors get there early enough, they can get coupons for free parking in the parking garage underneath the building, so when the doors are unlocked at 8:00 there are always a lot of people waiting to come inside to the big lobby to wait and go through several security checks.
Unfortunately the shooter, whose family is well known around here, just walked in the front door ,saw his targets and shot them before he ever got to the security check line on the far side of the lobby. The Court Constable and the Capitol Police Officer are real heroes for taking the shooter down so fast, in spite of being hit themselves, and not hitting any innocent people too. They will both be fine.  The brother of one of the women killed,Tim, was at our bingo last night. He is a regular and just wanted to be among friends and keep his mind busy.
Needless to say, I had a lot of friends from several agencies involved in that mess. I'm so glad they were all  safe. I think every police officer of any kind in New Castle County was dispatched, including the bomb squad. A very sad day.

In other news, I lost another firefighter friend ,younger than we, that meant a lot to me. Tonight there will be a Masonic service as he was a Past Grand Master of the Lodge, Al will be helping with that, and a fire fighter's service, as he was an Assistant Chief for us for many years. We'll both be in Class A's and help with that part. He was a really neat person ,both a pilot and a bagpiper. I will really miss him.  Between one thing and another, too much sadness around here. Now I'm going out to sit in the sun. I need it. Have a great day everyone.
