Well, the question at hand went before the board of directors.  Chairwoman of the board (wife) decided to opt out of the rodeo this year and keep our previously made commitment to go to Newport Beach tomorrow.  There are only two members on the board, but the chairwoman get two votes so the decision is made.  My daughter called this morning about GD#1's missing coat.  The coat had been missing since last week and she felt it must have been left at school and, "Dad, would you go to the office when you take her to school and check the lost and found?"  Which I did.  No coat.  So she called to tell me that in going through the granddaughter's clothes hamper it was buried at the very bottom.  She called to apologize.  No apologies necessary, things happen.  I informed her of the rodeo and she said she knew, but they had decided not to go this year.  I have not mentioned the rodeo to my son because one, I don't think he would want to go and, two, I would rather go to the beach myself, anyhow.  Selfish, yeah, I know.  But, what the hey, I am the family patron and I can do what I want, when I want, where I want, and how I want.........................................

with the approval of the Chairwoman of the Board. ::)

I'm watching the crew using the ditch witch to run the new gas line across the back yard to put in our new fireplace insert and gas log. It's beautiful weather to do it and the dirt is perfect to dig up. Hope they can finish and have it inspected tomorrow. Big rain due again on Wednesday.

Sounds like everyone had a great weekend! Judy, your new pic is great! Wilma, I am envious of your morning glories! I had an awesome weekend, with lots of activities. Thursday we went to West Mineral and toured Big Brutus, the big shovel. Then we drove around and visited some of the fishing lakes in the Mined Land wildlife area. We also looked at one of the cabins for rent at the trout lake. Friday, we went to Caney to visit the White Tigers, but it was closed for the season except for Saturday. We did have a nice visit with the owner and his monkey who was helping him drive the tractor while he cleaned a pond. Then we went to Dewey Ok. to tour the Tom Mix museum, very interesting with lots of memorabilia, and I learned a lot I did not know. From there we drove to Pawhuska via Bartlesville and visited the small casino there. I had received some birthday money last month, and was able to increase it once again, so we took the winnings and went to supper at the 160 cafe in Burden. I always like to see the expression on someones' face when they see the size of the chicken fried steak they serve there. We split one and still had plenty to take home with us. On Saturday, we took the Miata, and with the top down drove down the river road to the bridge, then went back to Longton to check out the Bow Shoot there. We did not know that this takes place in the woods so you cannot see what is going on. Saturday night we went to Merle & Connie Hays' business appreciation fish fry that they throw every year for the customers of their gas station. The fish, mountain oysters, ham& beans, dozens of homemade pies served by our hosts and all the pot luck dishes provided by all the guests made this a true feast. I could barely walk going out of there. Sunday we took a long drive through and south of Grenola, and across the low water crossing on the Caney. Then we went to Newkirk for another casino visit, but it was crowded and we suffered some losses. But we had great fun all weekend and hope to do it again before long. I need to rest up a bit first.  ;) PS The trees are absolutely beautiful!

I am sorry that everybody is having such a dull time.  There doesn't seem to be anything exciting happening to anyone.  Is it the weather, the time of year or what do you think it is?

I just finished up some more kids' fire safety programs. That's enough excitement for one day. I'm tired.

Wilma, I have been busy for a change and just haven't had time. Weekend was busy with the Bow-Shoot
we had a carry in dinner at church Sunday and met a visiting pastor........then Monday I washed and walked dogs and
then played catch up from weekend. Tuesday besides normal stuff had a meeting with a fellow church member, then
Wednesday I had eye doctor appointment in Caney and spent another dollar or so in WalMart......bought gas..etc.Left home at 9 and didn't get home till almost 3 and I went to bed soon after 8....YES 8! and slept till 5
Today I have mopped floors, ran sweeper, ironed the wash from earlier in week and walked to senior center for flu and pneumonia shot, got mail, walked dogs and then forgot to go get milk, Saw the truck and went back to store..
WHEE, I am tired. Now, I am catching up with computer again and feel a nap coming on. Now ask me again why I haven't been here..........LOL it is wonderful being tired cause I actually did something...not just sat around.
Your turn!
Today, I want to make a difference.
Here I am Lord, use me!

I spent the entire day at St. Joseph's Hospital in Wichita.  We left home at 6:00 this morning and got back about 4:00 this afternoon.  Very exciting day.  I was unconscious for a portion of it and the rest of the time I was either being prepared for surgery or being encouraged to rejoin the conscious.  I had my gall bladder removed.  The accompanying photo will show you why.

Except for a sore spot on my upper abdomen, I am feeling quite well.  Sorry the picture is blurry.  I didn't manage the closeup right.

Wilma, you didn't even tell you were going to have surgery.  So glad you did so good and feel so well, I am surprised they let you come home so soon.

Hope you will take it easy for a few days.

Note to self............sign onto Forum before dinner.  Yuck.....Glad you are doing okay, Wilma.  I am sure you will feel a lot better.

Tomorrow my son-in-law will come to pick up some things for Goodwill.  Our quest to clean the garage is coming along and there just happened to be an electronic waste pickup going on this weekend so some old radios, TV etc. went to them.  Then it is off to the Celiac Disease support meeting and lunch.

Sunday, our daughter and granddaughters will be going to Newport so we will go also.  One of those times when all of us get together.  Of course, the two older GDs are only interested in going to the beach down the street, but it will be a good time.
