Tracy Spangler, 29, was born in Wichita, Kansas on April 1, 1980.  Her life was tragically taken on June 27, 2009 in Oakland, California.  At the time of her death, she was employed at ManHeim Auto Auction in Hayward, California.  Tracy had an adventurous and joyful spirit and brightened the day of everyone around her.

She is survived by her companion, Brent Mayfield; her mother, Joni Wooderson Brooks (David) of Chanute, Kansas; father, Dexter Spangler (Suzette) of Golden, Missouri; sisters, Brandi and Christine Spangler of Helena, Montana and DeAnn Heaton (Michael) of Winfield, Kansas; and grandmothers, Margie Spangler and Margerie Wooderson, both of Severy, Kansas.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at the Severy Baptist Church, Severy, Kansas.

I live in the area and I remember reading about this in the paper.  Didn't know she was from Kansas, such a sad story.

She and another young lady were hit by stray bullets in an attempted drive-by shooting.  The last thing that got published as that police are looking for 3 suspects, but that was a month ago.
