Ronald J. Larkin Sr., of McPherson, Kansas, died May 11, 2009 at his residence.  Mr. Larkin was born May 11, 1929 in Elk County, Kansas to Lee R. and Susie Ellen (Tice) Larkin.  He married Flora Mae Cory on September 4, 1947 in Howard, Kansas.  He was a former resident of Winfield, Ness City, and Chase.  A retired oilfield worker, he worked as a pulling unit operator and truck driver for Butler Brothers Inc. in Winfield.  He was also a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Great Bend, Kansas.

Survivors include his wife, Flora Mae of the home; thee sons, Ronald Larkin, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Bly, Oregon, Fred Larkin and wife Carla of Smolan, Kansas, and Terry Larkin and wife Joleen of Lyons, Kansas; eleven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Maryellen Larkin and two sisters, Elva Nadine Olmstead and Marie Laurence.

Cremation has been effected.  Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2009 at Stockham Family Funeral Home in McPherson, Kansas.  There will be no visitation.
