Dan Kill of Sedan, KS died this evening in Tulsa.  Dan is survived by his daughter Lisa Kill Fritts of Dewey, Ok and Lynn Kill of Cedar Vale and several brothers including Mike, Tim, Steve, and "Blackie"

Daniel Nicholas "Dan" Kill, 68, of Sedan, Kansas, passed away Friday, February 27, 2009 at St. John's Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  He was born April 9, 1940 in Moline, Kansas to William Eugene and Verna Ann (Beaty) Kill.  He attended St. Mary's Grade School and graduated from Moline High School in 1958 and was a life-long rancher.  

He married Marilyn Kay Jacot on May 29, 1962, and from this union, they had two children.  They later divorced.  On March 21, 1981, he married Sue Anderson, and they later divorced.  He lived in the Moline area until 1976, then moved to Elk Falls, Kansas and later to Sedan, Kansas in 1981.  He was a member of Chautauqua County Farm Bureau.  He enjoyed cowboying and ranching.

He is survived by one son, Daniel Lynn Kill and wife Carol of Cedar Vale, Kansas; one daughter, Lisa Kay Fritts and husband Rick of Dewey, Oklahoma; one stepdaughter, Lisa Kimrey of Cherokee, Kansas; one stepson, David Anderson of Emporia, Kansas; four brothers, Hank Kill of Howard, Kansas, Mike Kill of Moline, Kansas, Steve Kill of Lincolnville, Kansas, and Tim Kill of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Duane Kill; and one sister, Kathryn (Kill) Clare .

Friends may call on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan, Kansas.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Sedan with Dr. J. Dean McNamara officiating.  A memorial video will be shown at the church at 1:40 p.m.  Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery north of Sedan.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial contributions to the Chautauqua County 4-H Scholarship Fund, and these remembrances may be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
