Betty L. Rizzuto, 75, died at 12:45 a.m. January 26, 2009, at her home. Lakeview Funeral Home, Wichita, is in charge of arrangements. Cremation and services will be private. Betty L., Rizzuto, 75, of Howard, Kansas, died January 26, 2009 following a lengthy illness.  She was born October 5, 1933 in Fort Worth, Texas and was the adopted daughter of Carl Jack and Sue Turrentine  She married Charles Rizzuto in Louisiana, and he survives.

She was employed as a cosmetology teacher in Louisiana.  She moved to Howard, Kansas in 1993 and worked as a home health care provider.  She was a member of the Howard Area Lions Club.

Survivors include her husband, Charles; two daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Cherry) Illig of Howard, Kansas and Mrs. David (Cara) Laiche of Louisiana; four granddaughters, Leslie Gerstner, Julie Childress, Nicole DeSoto, and Amanda Moss, all of Louisiana; and three great-granddaughters, Paige Childress, Ashlyn DeSoto, and Alexis Knight, all of Louisiana.  She is also survived by three stepdaughters, Lauriann Rizzuto and Sandy Patton, both of Howard, Kansas and Mary Robin Newmaster of Independence, Kansas; two stepsons, Chuck (Sandy) Rizzuto of Colorado and Joe Rizzuto of New York; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one step-granddaughter.

Lakeview Funeral Home of Wichita, Kansas is in charge of funeral arrangements and cremation.,  Private family services will be held at a later date  Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
