How do you all feel about Russia basically tellin us to go suck eggs over this thing in Georgia? How do you feel about Georgia pokin a bear with a stick and wantin to run and hide behind their ties with us and expecting us to get em out of trouble?

I think it isn't really any of our business and but for that big oil pipeline that goes from Iran, across Armenia and Georgia into Europe I do not think we would be concerned at all. What is the answer? I wouldn't have a clue.  ??? ??? ???

So we have no responsibility to any ally???  Sheesh. If i had a friend that would abandon me at the first sign of trouble i would be better off with enemies.

Rep of Georgia is a wonderful little country with wonderful people.  They love America and Americans.  Their some of the finest folks that this earth has come up with yet.  So why anyone would want to abandon them in a time of need is beyond me.

Curb your politician.  We have leash laws you know.

Isn't Russia considered an ally these days, or well on the way to ally status? Do we really want to go back to cold war days? Or do we set a standard of behavior for our allies, such as do as I say, not what I do, LOL! (Do not invade another entity as Georgia did to the little state that wanted to break away from them.)

The Democrats will be saying that McCain or Bush started it.

Did they start this fracus?
If I'm reading this situation correctly, the Georgians tried to squelch a section of their country that is wanting to remain loyal to Mother Russia...as a result of their crackdown on that area, the Russians came charging in to try to help out the section that was wanting to remain loyal...but also took over new areas, in a land grab, at the same time.  They are supposedly going to pull out, to try to appease the World, but haven't done so yet...on NPR, they were discussing the fighting going on.  I do know that Condoleeza Rice and W have been putting out some very terse statements...almost on a scary level...since this has occurred.
