Angie, you were too young  ;D to remember all the hub-bub of Madalyn Murray, but your mother and grandmother would have remembered.  Yes, more than one made the final decision, but it was MM that started the whole thing.  Being an athiest she did not want her dear son exposed to christianity.  In my days at school we respected their rights not to say the Lord's Prayer or the table blessing at lunch time.  By the same token they were expected to respect our rights and to be quiet while we had our devotions.  Seemed to work out pretty well.  By the way, her son didn't follow in her footsteps when he got old enough to make his own decisions about God.

Poor Pam , she had to agree with me.  And thanks for getting my point.  I certainly didn't mean I didn't believe in God.  But I don't believe in laying around waiting on him to make everything good for me, nor do I believe in laying around waiting on the Government to take care of my finances.

I agree about the 1/2 votes everyone should be counted.

Who knows this might being a mystery vote in the end to democrats. (& with some not being counted fairly, that may not be a good thing)

To be honest, I am not fond of either candidate running.

Just how much Senate experience does Barack Obama have in terms of actual work days? Not Much.
From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working.
After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan.
143 days -- I keep leftovers in my refrigerator longer than that.
In contrast, John McCain's 26 years in Congress, 22 years of military service including 1,966 days in captivity as a POW in Hanoi now seem more impressive than ever.

Yes, Obama is a young man, and willing to see the future. He uses technology and doesn't have to rely on anyone else to interpret for him information that he gets for himself. He is constantly learning and searching. No, he doesn't know it all but he's willing to learn I bet. Unlike some others.

Jon Favreau is Obama's speech writer..

Favreau has his own team: Adam Frankel, a 26-year-old who worked with Ted Sorensen on his memoirs, and Ben Rhodes, a 30-year-old who worked with Lee Hamilton on the 9/11 commission's report.

Together they had just three weeks to work on Obama's game-changing speech at the Jefferson-Jackson dinner in Iowa and even less time to work on Obama's victory speech last week. Weaving together lines from previous speeches—and even Obama's books—the team now knows the themes and language that reflect the candidate's voice.

Obama can't go into any town meetings and and answer questions directed at him without encountering problems. That is why is stays away from them so much.  He is inexperienced puppet on a string manipulated by god only knows who.

I'm not saying there aren't those who are pulling on McCains strings too.( I'm 100% sure of it)..but at least the man has some experience in government. ( He isn't my choice, but I'll vote for him, cause he is the only one who will continue to honor the Constitution of the United States as it was written by our founding fathers..

Everyone single one of Obamas speeches rhetorically continue preaching  A Changed World.
Oh we'll get changes all right.. and "We The People..(We the Taxpayer)  will be bowing down to the socialistic whims of a Marxist government.
