Ralph Z. Jones of Longton, Kansas died Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the Galichia Heart Hosptal in Wichita, Kansas.  He was born in rural Finney County, Kansas near Garden City on April 19, 1944, the son of Ralph J. and Flo L. Jones.  The family moved to rural Longton in 1949.

He attended the two-room school in Upola, Kansas and was a graduate of Elk City High School.  He was a lifelong farmer and rancher in rural Elk County, Kansas.

Both parents preceded him in death.  One brother, Milam T. Jones of Dodge City, Kansas, and one siste, Florrie McGinnis of Fredonia, Kansas survive him.  Three nephews, Andrew M. Jones of Austin, Texas, Jesse McGinnis of Fredonia, Kansas, and Justin McGinnis of Fredonia, Kansas, and two nieces, Gena Epp of Mesa, Arizona and Laurie Harrier of Erie, Pennsylvania, also survive him.

Memorial services were held at the Buxton Christian Church, southwest of Fredonia, Kansas  on Saturday, April 26, 2008.  Memorial contributions may be sent to the Buxton Christian Church, 3254 500 Road, Fredonia, Kansas.
