Betty Sue (Gragg) Ledbetter, 67, of Parkerfield, Kansas died April 30, 2008 at her residence.  She ws born October 30, 1940 in Eureka, Kansas to John Wesley and Eunice Irene (McIntosh) Gragg.  She attended school at Burns, Cedar Point, and Peru, Kansas.

Betty married Virgil Ray Ledbetter on June 15, 1956 in Sedan, Kansas.  To this union thee children were born, Terry, Vicki, and Gail. 

Betty continued her schooling in 1956 at Tulsa Vo-Tech, graduating in 1966 as a licensed practica lnurse.  She worked for Arkansas City Memorial Hospital until she returned to school in 1983 at St. Mary's of the Plains in Wichita, from which she graduated in 1984 with an associate's degree and became a registered nurse.  She then continued working at Arkansas City Memorial Hospital, later South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center as a team leader in the intensive care unit.  She was an excellent nurse who took pride in the care she gave her patients and took time to know each one  She loved to teach new nurses ways to become better and felt like patients needed to be treated as you would like to be treated.

After her retirement, she traveled extensively throughout the United State, Mexico, and Central America.  Her hobbies were gardening, quilting, photographing her family, and playing slot machines. 

She is survived by one son, Terry Ledbetter and wife Willa of Arkansas City; two daughters, Vicki Jellison of Oakland, Oregon and Gail Leffler of Jones, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Jennifer, Brooke, Trevor, Tifanny, Bart, Shawn, and Sharalyn;  three great-grandchildren;  brothers, Kenneth and  wife Barbara Rogers of Matfield Green, Kansas, Bud Smith of Brawley, California, and Ivoe Rogers of St. Louis, Missouri; sisters, Johnna Lou Martin and husband Vernon of Longton, Kansas, and Neva Gorrell of Peru, Kansas; sisters-in-law, Jane Adams of Grove, Oklahoma, June and Tom Murphy of Pratt, Kansas, June Ledbetter of El Dorado, Kansas, and Sue Friedel of Andover, Kansas; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ray in 2002, father, stepmother Ida, mother, stepfather Firm Rogers, brothers Clayton Gragg and Wesley Gragg, and sister Clete Pape.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home in Arkansas City, Kansas.  Burial will follow in the Parker Cemetey.  Robert L. Ferris will officiate.  The casket will be open Sunday from 1:00 -8:00 p.m.  The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
