Kenneth Leroy Knickerbocker, age 90, of Moline, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Home in Sedan, Kansas.  Kenneth was born on August 4, 1917 in Bovey, Minnesota, the son of Err (Earl) and Georgia (Phillips) Kickerbocker.

Kenneth spent some time as a child in the Neodesha area before his family moved to Moline where he would finish school.  Kenneth was a graduate of Moline High School class of 1935.  On May 28, 1939, Kenneth was united in marriageto Jean Baniks in Moline, Kansas.  Kenneth would go on to serve his country in the final days of World War II, spending most of the time stationed in the Philippines.  Afterthe war, he went to work for the Santa Fe
Railroad and retired as the District Material Supervisor.

He was a member of the Christian Church for 81 years.  He was also a member of the American Legion Post #388 in Moline for 20 years and Gideons International for 38 years  Kenneth served as a Boy Scout Leader, Troop 29 in Barstow, California.  In his spare time, Kenneth loved to play golf and fish.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jean Knickerbocker of Moline, Kansas; three sons, Philip Knickerbocker of Madison, Alabama, David Knickerbocker of Barstow, California, and Mark Knickerbocker of North Pole, Alaska; one step-sister, Evalee Walker of Wichita, Kansas,; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Everett and Robert, and two sisters, Beulah Young and Armilda Stilley.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the Moline Christian Church, Moiline, Kansas with Pastor Stan Rumbaugh officiating.  Visitation will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the church  Interment will be at the Moline City Cemetery.
