I thought I had the recipe for a Dump Cake.........I have part of it.

Does any of you have it. I know what goes into it.....like a cake mix and canned fruit pie filling
but not the amount of anything, it is a yummy cake and I think it would travel well and keep for a day or so
without worrying about it spoiling.

Help.
thanks Hugs to you.  aoyp.............and God bless

Cherry Dump Cake

20 ounces crushed pineapple
16 ounces cherry pie filling
1 package yellow cake mix, dry
1 1/2 sticks butter, sliced

Grease 9"x13" pan.
Dump all ingredients in layers, starting with pie filling and ending with butter pats.
Pats should be divided evenly on top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
Let cool and refrigerate.
Serves 10 to 12.

A variation is this one..

Ingredients:
1 can cherry pie filling
1 20 oz. can crushed pineapple with juice (do not drain)
1 yellow cake mix (dry, straight out of the bag)
1 8 oz. bag chopped walnuts or pecans (your preference)
1 7 oz. bag flaked or shredded coconut
1/4 cup butter, melted (1 stick)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease a  13x9 inch baking pan.

Dump cherry pie filling and undrained pineapple into pan.
Spread around to combine fruit just a little.
Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the fruit.
Sprinkle nuts and coconut over cake mix.
Drizzle butter evenly over nuts and coconut.

Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, or until coconut looks toasty.
Let cool for 15 minutes or so. Serve with or without Ice Cream.

Wow.. this looks good.  I made this with blueberries and pineapple, but I think I'll try the cherries the next time.  Thanks Teresa!

Teresa,

the one I have uses apple pie filling, is that a good
choice.
This does sound like the one that I had, but wonder what other kinds of
fruit you all use.

thanks, I will be making this..........the first bite of this cake, I thought I had
died and gone to heaven it was that good........and I need to make it when I
am going somewhere, and sharing with others......

I am afraid I could/would eat the whole blame thing and not stop till it was gone.
Temptation stay away from me!!!!!

Teresa's "Apple Dump Cake" with apples and pineapple is the one we use.  It is so good!  We think it's really better, though, when it is still warm from coming out of the oven!
