I am not sure I would include the Statue of Liberty but that is interesting.

One might be surprised the last female was Helen Keller on the Alabama quarter in 2003.

Sacajawea on the dollar coin that is apparently still being minted.

Susan B. Anthony on the dollar coin minted in late 70s and early 80s.

Queen Isabella of Spain on the quarter in 1893.

Eunice Shriver on the silver dollar in 1995.

Virginia Dare and her mother Eleanor Dare on the fifty cent piece in 1937. Virginia Dare was the first white women born in America and the two  just up and disappeared along with everyone else from Roanoke Island off North Carolina in the early 1600s.

There are some new first spouse $10 dollar gold specialty coins being minted, which will over time include all the first ladies.

The mint is calling them first spouse coins apparently in anticipation of a male becoming the "first lady."

The ladies (and anyone else) might like to know there has been one woman receiving the Medal of Honor.

Mary E. Walker was not military but was a doctor, a contract surgeon, spy, and POW during the Civil War.

Some said the medal was awarded under questionable circumstances and was taken away from her in 1917--even though she refused sending it back.

Jimmy Carter reinstated it around 1977.
