  Alva Lee Crismas of Severy died January 29, 1982, Anderson County Hospital in Garnett following a lengthy illness.  He was 67 and had lived Greenwood and Elk counties throughout his life.
  The son of Clinton Everett and Elnora Crismas, Crismas was born near Howard on December 27, 1914 and became a member of the Fiat Church of Christ in his youth.  He married Wilma Westwood on December 24, 1936, in Sedan.  She survives.
  Crismas farmed until 1962, when he and his wife wife purchased a grocery store in Severy.  They operated the store, Crismas Food Market until ill health forced Crismas to retire in 1973.
  Crismas joined the International Order of Odd Fellows in 1938 and was member of the Rebekahs, Patriarch Militants and Encampment.  He served as representative at Grand Lodge meetings for many years and had been a Boy Scout leader and a Little League coach.
  Additional survivors are three sons, Alva C., Miltonvale, Dale Garnett, and James, Humboldt; a daughter Frances Talamantes, Chicago, Ill.; three brothers Everett, Erie, Vernie Oildale, Calif., and Darrell, Redwood City, Calif.; two sisters Goldia Hinderliter, Waverly, and Sylvia Carson, Canutillo, Texas; ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
  The funeral service was held February 1, at Forsberg Funeral Home in Severy, with Bernard Smith the officiating clery.
  Interment was in Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard.
