The Howard high school graduating class of 1959 had their five year class reunion June 14 in the west park in Howard.

Those attending were Maxine Allison Thorne and husband, Dwight, and two children; Carl Rex Armstrong and wife, Edna; Max Barnaby and wife, Pat;  Arthur Friend; Jack Goodnight and wife, Louise, and daughter; Karen Kennedy Hess; Phyllis Lanning Friend and husband, Melvin, and four(?) children; Connie McLean Berry and husband, Randy; Pam Shipman Sharp and husband, Martin, and son; Robert Sloan and wife, Sharon; Barbara Irene Townsley Unrein and son; Jackie Ray VanBuskirk and wife, Paula, and daughter; Claudetta Vaughn Terry and husband, Dwain.

Letters were received and enjoyed from Eldene Lauffer, Carolyn Houser and Sister Mary Helen (formerly Virginia Criger).

After a delicious fried chicken dinner provided by the class treasury, everyone had a lovely visit and a class meeting was held.  It was decided to have another class reunion in five years.  It was also decided to donate the remaining money in the treasury, which amounted to $35.00, to the Institute of Logopedics at Wichita.
