Hallie Mullendore, daughter of John and Mary Mullendore was born September 19, 1867 in Johnson County, near Franklin, Indiana, and departed this live on July 5, 1960, at the home of Mrs. Beulah Montgomery in Howard, Kansas, at the age of 92 years, 9 months and 16 days.  She was a member of a large family and the oldest of seven who grew to adulthood.

She moved to Elk County, Kansas, with her parents in 1882, at the age of 15, and lived in or around Union Center community, near Howard , Kansas, almost the rest of her life.

She was united in marriage to Charles Edwin Tesh in September, 1887, and to this union, four children were born, Winnie, Frances, Mary and Frank. Mr. Tesh preceded her in death in 1899.

She was remarried in 1905 to Otho Elliott and to this union were born two children, Aline and Erwin.  Otho Elliott preceded her in death January 3, 1944.  She then made her home in Howard, Kansas.  She had lived the last four years of her life in the private home of Mrs. Beulah Montgomery in Howard, Kansas.

She attended the Christian church as long as she was able, although she was never a member of that church.

She is survived by one son, Erwin; three daughters, Aline, Frances and Winnie; two brothers, Ray and Clint Mullendore; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held in the chapel of the Moon Funeral Home, Howard, Kansas, with the Rev. Francis Baker of the Christian church officiating, on July 7, 1960, at 2:00 p. m.  Two songs, "Nearer, My God To Thee" and "Face to Face," were sung by Mrs. Curtis Morgan, accompanied by Mrs. Francis Baker.  Casket bearers were Henry Kling, Willis Miller, E. P. Herlock, George Westwood, John Parker and Robert Marrs. Interment was in Grace Lawn cemetery, Howard, Kansas.
