Sheridan Z. Ellsworth was born March 31, 1845 in Franklin County, New York.  Died at Moline, Kanss, October 3, 1916, age 71 years, 6 months, and 2 days.

He came to Kansas and settled at Moline in 1884.  Was married to Florence Bersee December 23, 1870.  They have one daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Webb of Moline, Kansas.

He united with the Congregational church in his early young manhood.  after coming to Moline he joined the Methodist Episcopal and was superintendent  of the Sunday school for 25 years.  He loved his church and was loved by his church.  His splendid example and Christian influence will not soon be forgotten.

He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America at the time of his death.  He leaves a daughter and many other realitives and friends to mourn their loss.  To Brother Ellsworth as given immediate consummate, eternal gain.  But the family has lost a loved presence, the church a faithful and respected member, the community a true and honored citizen.
