Raised on the family farm, Jerry developed a passion for cattle ranching at a young age, honing his skills and raising Polled Hereford Bulls to fund his college education.  His dedication led him to achieve a Master's degree, after which he taught Vocational Agriculture in the Howard, Kansas and Severy, Kansas schools, later becoming a principal.   In addition to his teaching career, he wore many hats.  He owned and operated Jerry Hall's Communications, which proudly celebrated its 50th anniversary this year.  He also owned and operated Lazy J Oil and Gas Company for several years.  His adventurous spirit also saw him become a licensed pilot.

On September 13, 1959, Jerry married the love of his life, Phyllis Myers, with whom he celebrated 65 wonderful years of marriage.  Together they were members of the Buxton Christian Church for the past 31 years.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis; two children, Steve Hall of Fredonia, Kansas and Deann (Dalen) Sites of Mohave Valley, Arizona; three grandchildren, Taylor Hall, Jeffrey Rowell, and D'adra Salley; and one great-grandchild, Sturgill Salley.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has been requested, and graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Altoona City Cemetery in Altoona, Kansas officiated by Rev.
