Connie Lou Howard, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Independence, Kansas on September 5, 2024 surrounded by family.  She was born on October 15, 1936 in Beaumont, Kansas to Louis and Fay (Kesler) Hufford.

Connie dedicated over 25 years of her life to working for Standard Motors where she retired as an oil pressure switch maker where she was known for her hard work and unwavering commitment.  Her family was her pride and joy. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her kindness, and the warmth she brought to every life she touched.  May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.

Connie is survived by her daughter, Sherri (Robert) Bunyard of Fall River, Kansas; her daughter-in-law, Rosemary Hebb of Texas; and her cherished grandchildren, Kelli (Robert) Ashby of Terrel, Texas, James (Samantha) McRoy of Webb City, Missouri, Miranda (Bryce) Martin of Andover, Kansas, Kory McRoy of Fall River, Kansas, Terry L. (Crystal) Hebb II of Texas, and Billy Joe Hebb of Texas.  She leaves behind a legacy of love that extends to her 20 great-grandchildren.  Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Howard; her parents, Louis Hufford and Fay Carder; her sons, Terry Hebb and Casey Hebb; her brother, Charles Hufford; and her sister, Janice Patton.

A Celebration of Life service will be held for Connie on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Benjamin Funeral Service, 114 W. Cherokee, Nowata, Oklahoma.  Burial will follow at Martin Cemetery in Childers, Oklahoma.
