Margery June Cunningham, age 96, of Tulsa, Oklahoma and formerly of Elk Falls, Kansas, passed away September 19, 2023 at her son's home in Tulsa, Oklahoma with her son, Michael, by her side.  She was born on March 21, 1927 in Weleetka, Oklahoma to William S. and Lucille (Pendleton) Blakely.

Margery graduated from Chehalis High School in Chehalis, Washington.  She later graduated from Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California with her nursing degree.  Margery lived in Elk Falls before moving to Tennessee and California working as a Registered Nurse.  On moving back to Elk Falls, she continued working at the Sedan City Hospital in Sedan, Kansas and other area nursing homes.  She worked as an R.N. from 1965 until her retirement in 2009.

Margery married Lawrence Patrick Cunningham, and they later divorced.  In July 2007, she married William H. Lemon, and he preceded her in death on December 7, 2006.  She was a member of the Friends of Elk Falls.  She also enjoyed knitting, gardening, and making stuffed animals for children undergoing surgery in area hospitals.

Margery is survived by her children, Thomas Patrick Cunningham and Christopher William Cunningham, both of Elk Falls, Kansas, Michael Timothy (Darlene) Cunningham of Tulsa, Oklahoma, R. Kevin Cunningham of West Covina, California, and Therese (Alan) Wilkerson of Lewellen, Nebraska; and 8 grandsons, 6 granddaughters, 8 great-grandsons, and 3 great-granddaughters who live throughout the United States.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Stuart Blakely; and her sister, Diane Blakely-Forzone.

Cremation has taken plance.  A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 12:00 noon at the Elk Falls Senior Center in Elk Falls, Kansas.  Please bring a covered dish as this is the weekly pot luck that Margery attended.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Jim and Steve Nursing Scholarhip Fund in care of Central Kansas Community Foundation, 301 N.
