Donna Lee Miller, age 82, of Howard, Kansas, passed away July 4, 2023 at the Eureka Nursing Center in Eureka, Kansas..  She was born on April 14, 1941 in rural Elk County, Kansas, the daughter of Herman and Ruby (Clifton) Harvey.

Donna attended Union Center rural school and then was a graduate of Howard High School in Howard, Kansas  with the Class of 1959.  On February 4, 1961, Donna married Robert N. Miller. After 31 years of marriage, they eventually divorced in 1992.

During the 1960s, they resided in Winfield, Kansas where Donna worked for Binney & Smith Crayola Company and McGill's Restaurant.  They returned to Howard in the early 1970s where she worked at local restaurants until opening her own restaurant in Howard, Miller's Restaurant.  Donna and Robert sold the restaurant, and in 1981, they purchased the Plaza Theatre and Grill in Howard, operating it for several years.  After nearly 30 years in the restaurant business, they moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1988 where Donna was employed at Electromech Technologies. She retired from there in 2013 after 25 years of service. 

In retirement, Donna moved back to Howard, living across the street from her son, Nick, and spending her final years close to family and friends.She enjoyed making quilts for her family.  She wasn't fast at it, but she was consistent.  When she could, she enjoyed going to casinos and reading romance novels.  She enjoyed talking and visiting with her friends over coffee and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Donna is survived by her son, Robert N. "Nick" Miller, Jr. and his wife, Christina of Howard, Kansas; grandchildren, Mycca (Christian) Phillips and Brec Miller; and great-grandchild, Kyler Phillips. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Ruby Harvey and her former husband, Robert N. Miller.

Cremation has been requested with a Celebration of Life service to be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas.  Memorials have been suggested to the Shriners Hospital for Children and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Online condolences for the family may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E.
