Rodger Dale Floyd, longtime business owner and funeral director, passed away on April 25, 2023.  The son of Elijah W. Floyd, Jr. and Laura Charlyn (Davis) Floyd, Rodger was born on May 4, 1954 in Sedan, Kansas. 

Rodger was raised and educated in Moline, Kansas, graduating from South Elk High School with the Class of 1972.  He attended Coffeyville Community Junior College in Coffeyville, Kansas and became best friends with Connie Littlepage, who he later married on June 23, 1973.  They couple had three children, Jason, Tammy, and Mandy.  In 1999, they gained a son-in-law, Brian Andrews, and in 2014 another son-in-law, Jeremy Lemmon.

Rodger attended and graduated from Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science in 1977, moving to Vinita, Oklahoma and working for the Luginbuel Funeral Home there.  In 1980, they family moved to Cushing, Oklahoma and purchased the Davis Funeral Home from the Davis family following the death of longtime owner, Leo Davis in 1984. 

Rodger was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church, a member and past president of the Cushing Lions Club, a member of the Cushing Masonic Blue Lodge, 32nd Degree Mason with his Consistory at Guthrie, Oklahoma, a past chairman and member of the Cushing City Commission serving for nine years with several years as mayor, a member of the Central Tech Board since 2012, a supporter and volunteer at the Food Bank of Cushing for numerous years, and a member of the ROMEO Club (Real Old Men Eating Out) who met at various places for coffee.

Rodger's love for this family, friends, and community were big.  He enjoyed golfing and going to sporting events that had to do with the Cushing Tigers and the University of Oklahoma, especially men and women's basketball and softball.  He was very passionate about his job and was true to his calling to help others during their time of need.  Rodger was a drugstore cowboy which included tending to the cows in his flip-flops.  He enjoyed traveling in the motorhome with Connie, especially when he got to stop at quilt shops (even knowing what a fat quarter was!).  His pride and joy were his grandchildren.  He traveled many places to watch them play sports including Connecticut for the Mickey Mantle World Series and Waco, Texas for the Little League World Series.

Survivors include his wife and best friend for almost 50 years, Connie of the home; his children, Jason Flolyd and Nikki of Mannford, Oklahoma, Tammy (Brian) Andrews of Jenks, Oklahoma, and Mandy (Jeremy) Lemmons of Cushing, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Koby, Brailee Mai, Abby, Brayden "Tiger", Riley, and Krager; with the additon of Jeremy we gained three grandchildren, Dutch (Lauren), Tennessee (Braden),  and Dane (Morgan); five great-grandchildren, Asher, Kye, Noah, Beau, and Nevaeh; his brothers, Gary (Marsha) Floyd of Liberal, Kansas, Larry (Rosemary) Floyd of Liberal, Kansas, Bob (Donna) Floyd of Vinita, Oklahoma, and Harold (Brenda) Floyd of San Antonio, Texas; his sisters, Rita Lanning of Coffeyville, Kansas and Janice (Rick) Lanning of Liberal, Kansas; two brothers-in-law, Bill (Louise) Littlepage of Independence, Kansas and John Littlepage of Lebanon, Indiana; three sisters-in-law, Judy(Mick) Palmer of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, Karen Littlepage of Wichita, Kansas, and Kay Littlepage of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Ryder Lemmon; his sister-in-law, Waunita Floyd; and three brothers-in-law, Terry Lanning, Rick Littlepage, and Steve Littlepage.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the First Baptist Church, 2238 E. Main Street, Cushing, Oklahoma.  Burial will follow at the Fairlawn Cemetery.  The family will greet friends on Friday evening, April 28, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Family Center at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Food Bank of Cushing (2238 E. Main Street, Cushing, OK 74023) or the Down Syndrome Association of Tulsa (P.O. Box 54877, Tulsa, OK 74155).  Services have been entrusted to Matherly-Davis Funeral Home, 402 E. Broadway Street, Cushing, Oklahoma.
