Alvin Leroy Hawn of Wasilla, Alaska went to meet his Lord on September 1, 2021.  He was born on September 1, 1934 to James Edward and Mary Jane (Brannon) Hawn.

Leroy was born and raised in Caney, Kansas.  He graduated from Caney High School in 1952.  He married Lillian Augustine.  This marriage later ended in divorce.

Leroy moved to Wichita, Kansas where he worked in the wholesale grocery business with Fleming Foods during the 1950s.  He then moved his family to rural Climax, Kansas in the mid 1960s.  He continued to work at Fleming Foods until retiring in the 1970s when he started Hawn's Farm Tire Service in rural Climax.  He later relocated the business to Severy, Kansas and had Hawn's Farm Tire Service and Laundry.  He also operated the Continental Trailways Bus Terminal.

With all his boys gone from home, Leroy moved to Colorado in the early 1980s and shortly afterward, he headed to Alaska.  While living there, he decided to go into missionary work.  He did not become a preacher but used his talents to build schools, churches, and drill water wells while spreading the Lord's Word in Kenya.

Leroy was an adventurous man, and all that were acquainted with him knew it.  Leroy touched many lives throughout his life.  He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Cremation has taken place, and private memorials will be held at a later date.
