Daryle Wayne Jontra, age 76, of Longton, Kansas, passed away on July 1, 2019 at Fredonia Regional Hospital in Fredonia, Kansas.  He was born on October 14, 1942 in Independence, Kansas, the son of Stanley Edmond and Beatrice (Kaizerling) Jontra.

Daryle was a graduate of Elk Falls High School in Elk Falls, Kansas, Class of 1960.  After high school, Daryle served in the United States Army Reserves from 1964 until 1970.  He worked most of his life on the farm, McPherson Concrete, and was also an Ag Equipment salesman at Sheperd's in Independence, Kansas.

In December 1971, Daryle married Carol Gillette.  They later divorced in 1991.  He was baptized as a small boy at the First Christian Church in Elk Falls.

Daryle is survived by numerous cousins and longtime friends, Gene and Carolyn Corle, Dick and Linda Adams, Jon D. and Pat Patterson, and Brad and Mavis Helms.

Cremation has taken place.  Friends will be holding a memorial graveside service at the Elk Falls Cemetery on Friday, July 5, 2019 at 6:30 p.m.  Memorials have been suggested to the American Cancer Society and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  Final services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 420 S. 20th Street, Fredonia, Kansas 66736.
