Leckliter--Loyd (1927)

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Loyd in Union Center township was the scene of a beautiful Chirstmas wedding, when their daughter, Miss Marie, became the bride of Mr. Darrel Leckliter, the ceremony taking place at six o'clock last Saturday evening, December 24th.  A color motif of green and white was very effectively developed in festooning in the chosen shades and white and pink rosebuds combined in the decorative scheme.

To the strains of the wedding march the young couple took their places and the beautiful wedding ceremony of the Methodist church was pronounced by Rev. J. H. Hoopingarner, the double-ring service being used.  Miss Marian Sliker sang "I Love You Truly."  The bride was attired in a beautiful dress of white shadowed velvet and georgette, trimmed in rhinestones and silver cloth and wore silver slippers.  The ring bearer, a niece of the bride, wore pink satin.

After the ceremony about fifty guests were seated at three tables and all enjoyed a sumptuous wedding supper.

Sunday an infair dinner was given at the home of Mrs. Wm Leckliter in Howard.

The bride and groom took a short wedding trip to Wichita and Kansas City, accompanying Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Munsinger.

Mrs. Leckliter is the youngest daughter of Mr, and Mrs. C. F. Loyd and was born and grew to young womanhood in this vicinity.  She is a graduate of Howard high school and is a successful teacher, this year being employed in the Elk Falls grade schools.   The groom is the youngest son of Mrs. Wm. Leckliter of Howard, a graduate of our high school and a popular young man.  He is at present employed in the Fralick store.

Their many friends wish them the most of success and happiness in the years to come.--The Citizen/
