June 28, 1917

Clarence W. Hinshaw and Miss Margaret A. Carter were married at the home of the bride's parents in Howard, Wednesday morning, at 7 o'clock by Rev. O.L. Weir, pastor of the First Baptist church.  Immediately after the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Hinshaw motored to Severy where they took the east bound train for St. Louis where they will spend a day or so and then they will go to visit with Mr. Hinshaw's parents in North Carolina.

The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Carter of this city and is a charming young lady and loved by all who know her.  The groom is a worthy young man of many sterling qualities.

Mr. and Mrs. Hinshaw have the best wishes of their many friends for a long and happy life..

While I was in high school, I can vaguely recall an elderly couple by the name of Hinshaw, and the gentleman was retired, and I think he drove an old 1948 gray Chevy (I think it was) and it sticks in my memory that my brother-in-law bought that car from him, to add to his "junk collection."   But I can't remember much else about them, but I do think his first name was Clarence.
