Change of postmaster to a George M. Crane in 1878 at Oak Ridge in Elk County.

So, where was Oak Ridge?

"If one of the many corrupt...county-seat contests must be taken by way of illustration, the choice of Howard County, Kansas, is ideal." Dr. Everett Dick, The Sod-House Frontier, 1854-1890.
"One of the most expensive county-seat wars in terms of time and money lost..." Dr. Homer E Socolofsky, KSU

Waldo,
There was a country school named Oak Ridge in district 68a. At the moment at I can't locate the school map frawin gave me but for some reason I am thinking it was east of Busby near the Wilson county line----but my old memory aint what it used to be so Frank---help me out here. Not sure if the school had anything to do with a postmaster.
