Olive Juanita Anderson, age 100, of Howard, Kansas went to be with the Lord the morning of January 27, 2017.  Juanita was born December 16, 1916 on a farm northeast of Howard, Kansas to David Leslie Anderson and Harriett Elizabeth (Murphy) Anderson.

Juanita graduated from Longton High School in 1934 and later obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia, Kansas in 1959.  She began her teaching career as soon as she graduated high school.  She taught for many years in the Elk/Greenwood rural schools and Severy Public Schools.

Juanita never married and was a loving daughter, sister, cousin, and adored aunt and great-aunt.  She was an attentive, loving and faithful daughter to her elderly parents.  Her life was dedicated to serving the Lord, family, and friends.  She was a member of the Church of Christ of Eureka, Kansas, Loyal Lima EHU, Elk/Greenwood County Retired Teacher  Association (Historian), Life Member of the Kansas State Retired Teachers Association, and volunteered at the Howard Senior Center.

Juanita is survived by her brother, Carl Leo Anderson of Columbia, Missouri and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Lizzie; her brothers, Dalton Leslie Anderson, Virgil Raymond Anderson, and Luther Max Anderson; and her sisters, Harriett Evalean Finley, Sylvia Irene Martin, and Carlye Leona Taylor. 

A visitation  will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas.  A funeral service will begin directly after at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Sean Clothier officiating.  Interment will follow at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard, Kansas.  Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  Memorial contributions have been suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The Church of Christ in Eureka, Kansas and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.
