Burn a Flag, Go to Prison . . .

To any ingenuous souls who thought that because Donald Trump was an improvement over Hillary, and that his giving the established order sleepless nights, were indicative of a libertarian disposition, take note of his latest suggestion: those who burn the American flag should suffer legal consequences, perhaps a loss of citizenship and/or a prison term. It is a chilling reminder that those who seek political office are, by nature, attracted to being able to use the violent powers of the state to control and punish others, as well as a confirmation that, whoever you vote for, the government always gets elected.

Trump wants lots of attention and will say anything to get it. He knows perfectly well he can't strip people's citizenship or punish them for flag burning. The Constutuion doesn't allow it... Makes me sad, but isn't illegal.

There's a lot flag worship in this country and it's been building ever since the War Between the States which mostly translates to the worship of the government. 

You're probably right, Trump is playing his role in the whole thing.
