Percy H. Payne, age 93, of Fairview, Mo., died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007 at Lacoba Homes in Monett, Mo.  He was born January 6, 1914 in Louisiana, Mo, the son of Arthur and Lola (Hoffmann) Payne.

Mr. Payne moved to Wheaton Fairview area from Elk City, Kan. where he was a rancher and cowboy for over 30 years.

Percy Payne married Theresa Ferguson on Feb. 2, 1936 in Anaheim, Calif. and she preceded him in death on October 29, 2006.

He issurvived by his four daughters, Barbara L. Hickman and husbnad L. C. of Fairview, Mo., Loretta Rose and husband Vernon of Edmond, Okla.; Roberta Morrison and husband Kenneth of Woodward, Okla., and Theresa Faddis and husband Tom of Pineville, Mo.; one son, Daniel H. Payne and special friends Shiela Williams of Elk City, Kan.; one brother Leroy Ferguson of Twentynine Palms, Calif; thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Arrangements are being handled by Lakin Funeral Home, Pierce  City, Mo.  The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Wheaton.

Funeral service will be at Wheaton First Baptist church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007 with Rev. Leroy Norton and Rev. Mark Hall officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Muncie Chapel Cemetery near Wheaton, Mo.
