Frank,

I never was in either of these buildings. The most vivid memory of the buff brick building I have was the hitching rack in front on Wabash. I saw saddle horses and a team or two tied up there. The rack was there for many years until it just up and disappeared.

One time it rained so much during the week that the county roads were getting impassable. My granddad on my mother's side pulled one car that I can remember out of the mire with his draft team. That related Saturday, my Granddad said that if push came to shove we would take the team to town. He did not want to miss the social importance of Saturday in town. I thought "good" we can tie up to the hitching rack. But, I cannot recall if we did not go to town or if we did go what conveyance we took. It was not the horses, though as I would surely have remembered.
