Darlene Martin, 87, of Parsons, Kansas, passed away January 16, 2016 at Elm Haven East Nursing Facility in Parsons, Kansas.  She was born January 2, 1929 in Kinsley, Kansas, the daughter of Claude Sidebottom and Jessie (Miller) Sidebottom.

Darlene grew up in Kinsley and attended local schools, graduating from Kinsley High School in 1947.  She was united in marriage in 1968 to Ronald Martin in Miami, Oklahoma.

Darlene was Vice-President at the Howard State Bank in Howard, Kansas and Union National Bank in Wichita, Kansas.  She had lived in Parsons for the past 16 years, and her favorite hobby was doing crafts.

Survivors include her husband, Ron, of the home; children, Richard Matthews of Buda, Texas, Rita Williams of Aurora, Colorado, Ron Matthews of Austin, Texas, Rhonda Allen of Wichita, Kansas, and Renee Hirsch of Kinsley, Kansas; her sister, Faye Reardon of Coffeyville, Kansas; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one sister.

Graveside memorial services were held on January 20, 2016 at Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale, Kansas.  Memorial remembrances are suggested to the American Cancer Society, and they may be left with or mailed to Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 E. 4th Street, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335, which is in charge of arrangements.
