Mildred Lucille (Clubine) McNown was born March 31, 1926 in Leon, Kansas to George and Elsie (Lewis) Clubine.  At the age of 89, she passed away on August 22, 2015 at Golden Living Center in El Dorado, Kansas.

Mildred graduated from Moline High School in 1944.  She graduated from Emporia Cosmetology School in Emporia, Kansas in 1946.  Mildred married H.H. "Bud" McNown on March 7, 1947 in Sedan, Kansas.  She operated a beauty shop in Moline, Kansas before moving to El Dorado, Kansas in 1955. 

Mildred worked at the 4Winds Girl Scout Office in El Dorado for several years.  She retired from Gray Motor Company in 1985.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in El Dorado, Kansas for 57 years where she was also a member of the Sarah Circle.  She enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of different bridge groups. 

Mildred is survived by her husband, Bud; daughter, Linda Clark (Gene Simowitz); and son, Larry (Liz) McNown.  She has three grandchildren, Stephanie (Mike) Creeden of Savannah, Georgia, Matthews (Melissa) Clark of Overland Park, Kansas, and Mark McNown of El Dorado, Kansas; five great-grandchildren, Cole, Reese and Grey Creeden and Addie and Cate Clark; two brothers, Ben Clubine and Dale Clubine, both of Moline, Kansas; and three sisters, Fern Boyer of Augusta, Kansas, Virginia Tharp of Severy, Kansas, and Phyllis VanBuskirk of El Dorado, Kansas.  She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one sister.

Mildred's family will gather with friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Carlson Funeral Home, 200 S. Star, El Dorado, Kansas 67042 where her Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. led by Reverend Gene Simowitz.  She will be laid to rest in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.  Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to Meals of Wheels at Susan B.
