Harry E. Murphy, 95, joined the Lord on November 10, 2014.  Born near Moline, Kansas to Edgar and May (Brogan) Murphy, this farmer served with General Eisenhower in World War II as a cryptographer.  He later pursued his accounting career that included Senior Accountant for a CPA firm, Office Manager for an auto dealership, and Price Analyst for the federal government at Boeing.  He retired at age 62 and devoted his time to hunting, fishing, and tinkering at his home, which he managed for 50 years.

Harry is survived by his daughters, Mignon (David) and Mary (Thomas), both of St. Louis, Missouri; his son, Brad (Roseann) of Mount Horeb, Wisconsin; and his daughter, Lesa Pierce of Wichita, Kansas.  He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Ruth; his son, Patrick; and his grandson, Dylan Thomas.

A Vigil will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. and a Funeral Mass on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Wichita, Kansas. Memorials may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 861 N. Socora, Wichita, Kansas 67212 or United Way of the Plains, 245 N. Harry Murphy's siblings who all grew up in Moline, Kansas were Blendina (Murphy) Shafer, Don Murphy, Mary Ruth (Murphy) Peebles, June (Murphy) Rhudy, and Ella Mae (Murphy) Durbin.  They are all now deceased.
