Gene Workman, age 87, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014.  Gene was born March 2, 1926 in Howard, Kansas, the son of Roy C. and Clara B. (Harper) Workman.

When Gene was young, he worked on the family farm where he learned custom cutting and terracing.  Gene owned several local businesses and spent most of his career with The Boeing Company.  He was especially proud of his contribution to the Vertol Division.

Gene is survived by his daughters, Rena Horn and Paula (Tom) Rongish; grandchildren, Lexie Hayworth, Andrew Horn, Ryan Rongish, and Stephanie Horn; 9 great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Walt, Hobart, and Bob; his first wife, Dixie; his second wife, Eva; his son, Craig Workman; and his daughter, Diane Workman.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th Street, Wichita, Kansas.  Services will begin at 2:00 p.m.  Send condolences via www.MyLakeviewFuneralHome.com.
