MOLINE-- Calvin Leroy Mills, 82, longtime resident of Moline died April 22, 2006, at Elk Manor Nursing Home in Moline.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Moline Christian Church. Pastors Stan Rumbaugh and Gary Boles will officiate.  Military honors will be conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard at Moline Cemetery.  Hope Lodge 155 will conduct Masonic graveside services.

Memorials have been established with the Moline Alumni Association, Eastern Star Ladonia Chapter 243 of Elk Falls and the Moline Christian Church.  Contributions may be left with Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard.

Mills was born Aug. 31, 1923, at Moline, to Orville Edgar and Audrey Gertrude (Wolverton) Mills.  He grew up in Moline and graduated from Moline High School.

In 1943, Mills entered the United States Army and served his country during World War II.

On Aug. 7, 1949, he married Mary Lou Perrigo at Moline, and to this union were born four sons.  Mills was a rancher throughout his life and worked 40 years as a heavy equipment operator for Martin-Marietta.

He was a member of Hope Lodge 155 Ancient Free & Accepted Mason in Howard, Eastern Star Ladonia Chapter 243 in Elk Falls and the Moline Christian Church.

Mills was preceded in death by a son, Tom Mills.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Mills, Moline; three sons, Gary Mills, Mulvane, Mike Mills, Moline, and Dan Mills, El Dorado; two brothers, Harold Dean Mills, Clearwater, and Roger Mills, Moline, a sister, Pat Custer, Moline; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
