Berniece Ann "Bea" Ray, age 72, of Fall River, Kansas, died Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Fredonia Regional Hospital in Fredonia, Kansas.  She was born on August 8, 1940 in Nickelsville, Virginia, the daughter of Emmitt and Kate (Stafford) Dameron.

Bea worked several years doing home health care and helping others with their house care.  In her spare time, she enjoyed working in her garden or taking care of plants.  She enjoyed going to garage sales and traveling to Las Vegas.  In November of 1982 in Wichita, Kansas, Bea married Benny Ray.  Bea and Benny were married for 30 years.

Survivors include her husband, Benny, of the home; son, Kenneth Doyle of Henderson, Nevada; daughter, Janet Beye of Wichita, Kansas; stepchildren, Gary Ray of Andover, Kansas, Sherri Vanderhoof of Mulvane, Kansas, Diane Hadwiger of Wichita, Kansas, and Paula Ray of Mesa, Arizona; brothers, Emmitt Dameron of Vassar, Kansas, Fred Dameron of Wichita, Kansas, Phillip Dameron of Haysville, Kansas, and J.C. Dameron of Haysville, Kansas; 18 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.  Bea was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Leslie Doyle; and her brother, Robert Dameron.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Weakly Cemetery near New Albany, Kansas.  Visitation will be from 11:00 to 12:00 noon before the service at the funeral home.  The family has suggested memorials to the VFW Post #3018 in Fredonia, Kansas and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 420 S. 20th Street, Fredonia, Kansas 66736.
