Perhaps, I made an error posting this.

I'm wondering if there is any truth to these stories or is it just an attempt to smear the church!

Where is the news media on what should be breaking news?

If it is a smear I would think the news media would be all over it, to dispell the rumor.

If it is a truth I would think the news media would be all over it, reporting it heavily.

Anyway, I think it will be interesting to see how this all unfolds.

Perhaps there are concerns that this will lead to information again being released about his Hitler Youth days.

One of the articles said, "I need not remind you, Mr. President, that under international law and treaties that have been ratified by Italy, you and your government are forbidden from granting such protection to those like Joseph Ratzinger who have aided and abetted criminal actions, such as ordering Bishops and Cardinals in America and elsewhere to protect known child rapists among their clergy."

I have also read else that it pertains to money laundering as well.

Present day stuff mainly.

I have also read that it is a smear campaign.

Only time will tell.
