From CNN:
Washington (CNN) – With the stroke of a pen Thursday, President Barack Obama gave himself and his wife Secret Service protection for the rest of their lives.

The new law, which passed the House and Senate in December, designates that all former U.S. presidents who served after January 1, 1997, along with their spouses, receive protection from the Secret Service for their entire lifetimes – meaning former President George W. Bush and his wife Laura are also covered. The law also stipulates that children of presidents receive protection until the age of 16.

Lifetime government-provided security for former presidents was the law of the land until 1997, when Congress passed legislation limiting Secret Service protection to ten years after leaving office.

The 1997 law said any president serving before January 1, 1997 would still receive the lifelong protection. That means with the law signed Thursday, every former president – Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush – along with Obama will continue to receive Secret Service details for the rest of their lives.

(....)

From InfoWars:
Despite launching a gun control agenda that threatens to disarm the American people, President Obama has signed a bill that would afford him armed Secret Service protection for life.

"The legislation, crafted by Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy of South Carolina, rolls back a mid-1990s law that imposed a 10-year limit on Secret Service protection for former presidents. Bush would have been the first former commander in chief affected," reports Yahoo News.

The new bill, which will cost American taxpayers millions of dollars, is a re-instatement of a 1965 law which will see presidents protected for life as well as their children up to age 16.

The irony of Obama seeking to surround himself with armed men for the rest of his life while simultaneously working to disarm the American people via a gun control agenda that is likely to be enforced via executive decree represents the height of hypocrisy.

But it's not the first time that Obama has lauded the notion of responsible Americans using firearms to protect himself and his family while concurrently eviscerating that very same right for the American people.

During an ABC Nightline interview broadcast on December 26 yet recorded before the Sandy Hook shooting, Obama said one of the benefits of his re-election was the ability "to have men with guns around at all times," in order to protect his daughters.

In addition, the school attended by Obama's daughters in Washington D.C. has no less than 11 armed security guards [plus 4 Secret Serice Agents] on duty at all times, yet the idea of arming teachers and school officials to prevent school massacres has been dismissed by gun control advocates who want school campuses to remain "gun free zones" where victims are disarmed and shooters are free to carry out their rampage unimpeded.

The hypocrisy of gun control advocates who feverishly work to create victim disarmament yet surround themselves with armed men is rampant amongst the political class.

Hmmmm... maybe Obuma isn't as stupid as we thought, signing that bill.  He probably knows he will need it.

Jar, the 3300 number is for station 9, st.8, where the hall is ...302-454-3308, is the radio room...454-3304,is the managers office. The bar...454-3305. Unless you hurry you'll miss it ;D ;D ;D. Plus it costs, I think $5.00 to get in, not sure on that. Yes, it's open to the public. It's on the marquee out front. I'll have to check, I don't know if it's on the website..haven't looked at anything but the private members only part and mail recently.
We're ramping up for our 125th anniversary and they are making some changes to the website.

Varmit

Diane, thank you for finally admitting that you favor control!

QuoteI still say people who lawfully own and use guns have nothing to worry about.  States rights and constitutions should take care of that. There is nothing wrong with back ground checks where ever and how ever guns and ammo are sold, and limits on how many guns can be sold at one time to one person, especially if the buyer is a stranger to the seller. It might not be the total answer, but it would surely help. What's the hurry anyway? There are people for whom guns should be forbidden.

As fas as "libel"...you are just as guilty as anyone here.

Thank you for also finally showing your leftist, liberal colors!  Although many have suspected you of being a liberal, your recent attempts at personal attacks and insults have given proof.  Yes, I know both sides have used the same tactics, but you readily fall back on them when you cannot return an argument with any logic or facts.

Oh, and for the record, if it wasn't for the second admendment, we wouldn't have any of the others.  That is a fact that you liberal cowards will never understand.
It is high time we eased the drought suffered by the Tree of Liberty. Let us not stand and suffer the bonds of tyranny, nor ignorance, laziness, cowardice. It is better that we die in our cause then to say that we took counsel among these.

Yup, what a waste. Go ahead and be who you are. I guess you can't help it.  Apparently you don't understand that our rights extend to all citizens, not just certain ones who think they speak for all.  I always thought you were proud of your schools...guess not.
So, if insulting your own teachers, some of who read your posts, will fix anything, you might want to go back to school yourselves.
So Mrs. I am better than everyone else is going to throw a tantrum because she does not like what other people feel and express.... Wow big shocker there!!!
QuoteWhy compare your schools with inner city Chicago as some have done? It shows a real lack of understanding of what teachers are up against. Between bad parenting and absent kids, the really good teachers hardly stand a chance, but they never give up anyway. I wish you had enough sense to appreciate what you have.
Oh and you would know a lot about bad parenting right?? Who or what made you an expert? Oh I get it you did wrong to your children when they were younger?? You have not one single "christianly" thing to say here! You criticize and judge people when that is not your place it is God's!! So unless I have died and gone down under you my "snookems" are not my Lord and Savior!
QuotePlease go to some school and learn to read. You are committing libel. By  twisting words and misquoting things that many of us have said, if that's the best you can do, then people should understand how dangerous you really are, huh? Ooh what a big shot!
and so jealous of "them."
You have a lot of room to speak here huh Diane? You do not live here and should honestly in my opinion go start your own blog for your "home" turf and stop your unwanted drama on here. If you have a true problem with someone executing their first ammendment right then you too are not the smartest cookie in the jar either?!?
QuoteYou make it sound like guns are all there is. No family, no morals ,no commandments, no church, no cohesive community just things that kill and make noise.
He never said that and you have no idea who he is if you think that! You need to get your head out of the clouds and come down to planet earth and open your eyes!!
QuoteI wish you would be as concerned with the many hundreds of families, especially children, who have been lost to gunfire.
Varmit...you are so isolated out there, by your own admission, your "'neighbors'' are all that live there, so I guess that's all there would be to shoot at ,right?
Yeah that is it! We are so ignorant we are just gonna walk outside in our jammies to open fire!! My goodness you have some serious issues you need help on!!

QuoteWhat are you so afraid of? It sounds more like a selfish obsession, with no concern for the feelings or rights of others. How about trying to help solve the problem? How about some constructive solutions that aren't just pipe dreams? Hey,lets put little 22's in cereal as premiums like they used to do dishes and towels? Yes, of course I'm kidding.
Don't you folks care about the rest of the Constitution and the other amendments? Real Americans value and understand it all, not just one piece.
I still say people who lawfully own and use guns have nothing to worry about.
Varmit, you are very rude and very spooky. How did you ever pass the psychological to own guns in the first place? ;)
I guess I'll stop by the firearms show at our fire house tomorrow and see how many visitors put on clean t-shirts and put their teeth in for the big event. ;) Now go away and play with your guns....And DO NOT read what I write...you aren't adult enough to handle it objectively .Bye- bye snookums. 8) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
You know I am not my husbands keeper and I will never ask him to not stand up for what he believes. I am also not here to badger you and this become some more drama that you can attempt to make yourself feel better about. I am just as outspoken as he is and I feel I have let you talk enough lies and crap on my husband that I wanted to come say something for myself. You have no right to speak for other's either. You want to insist on people returning to school... I am in school and I can read imagine that!! WOW!! But I will be looking for my check in the mail from you since you feel that my education is not good enough or my husbands for that fact and we will put your check towards school.. For both of us! You have some nerve like I told you last time. If you want to tell him to not read your posts then do not blast him on here and force his hand to shut you down and prove you wrong. It really does just look bad for you.. Not him! I am sure many on here will agree. I do not understand how someone can be so naive and blonde if you will when it comes to being an AMERICAN!! See the people here who bust their tails working and taking care of farms down here feed your fat mouth up there... Maybe you should respect your "HOME ROOTS" and stop bad mouthing people. Go to church confess to Jesus and know that We meaning my wonderful loving husband, our SIX children (that are NOT abused) and myself will most certainly pray for you..
Oh.. I almost forgot...  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D    God bless you...

The Big List of Who Hates Guns

by Mike Piccione - Editor, Guns & Gear

http://dailycaller.com/2012/03/01/the-big-list-of-who-hates-guns

I was cruising the web reading gun articles and then I started wondering about writing an article on anti-gun organizations and people. Since anti-gunners are always saying "no one wants to take your guns away" or they want me to live under their take of "sensible gun laws" (neither of which I believe to be prudent, sensible or anything remotely truthful) I figured I would go to the NRA's Institute of Legislative Action to find out who are the people that want to be sure that I can't defend my home or go shooting my .22 in the woods (both heinous acts of human behavior to be sure).

So, hats off the the NRA-ILA team for compiling this list. Here is what the NRA-ILA team had to say:

The following organizations have lent monetary, grassroots or some other type of direct support to anti-gun organizations. In many instances, these organizations lent their name in support of specific campaigns to pass anti-gun legislation such as the March 1995 HCI "Campaign to Protect Sane Gun Laws." Many of these organizations were listed as "Campaign Partners," for having pledged to fight any efforts to repeal the Brady Act and the Clinton "assault weapons" ban. All have officially endorsed anti-gun positions.

Editor's Note: Steve Norton contacted me to be removed from this list. Steve was with Argosy Casino and left many years ago. He is a supporter of the Constitution and the right to keep and bear arms. He has been removed.

My thanks to the National Rifle Association's Institute of Legislative Action for keeping an eye on our Second Amendment for all of us. And to all those that want to curtail the right to keep and bear arms...we are watching you.

"A gun is like a parachute.  If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again."

Diane Amberg

I'm sorry a few of you are so indoctrinated as to not know the difference between gun regulation and gun control.
Some of you also don't understand the difference between speaking to someone personally and talking generally and situationally. With some of you, actual discussion and debate on national  topics is impossible, because a few have to declare an" enemy" as prey, with themselves as predator. Rather primitive, but so be it.
Wives "protecting" husbands sounds wimpy, but who cares. Anyone should be allowed to have an opinion, even out of control useless playground ranting.
Bad parenting? Ask any teacher! We see it a lot. Why would anyone be surprised?
Going back to school...great idea, always. if nothing else, reading comprehension levels and thinking skills can always be improved. Night schools, such as Groves, can be tough. I always admire those who finally see the reason for their degree and accept the challenge to buckle down, work hard and succeed. It's not easy! I've never known anyone who regretted doing it.
Right now I'm trying to help a dear friend. Her husband, a volunteer firefighter ,who was a huge gun collector ,avid marksman and hunter, died last Tuesday at age 42, leaving a grieving, distraught wife (teacher)and an elementary school age boy and girl.    He committed suicide with one of his many guns while they were all at their respective schools. Can you understand why she might be very anti gun right now? Her poor son is very confused. The funeral visitation was yesterday . I wonder how many gun fanatics would have had something really stupid to say to her.
It will all be alright some day, but right now it's terrible. In cases like this, the fire service closes ranks and becomes very protective.
Wanna make more nasty remarks to me? Go ahead... show how sleazy you really can be. A pox on all your houses. Which ever rock you live under. >:(

No, I don't see why she would be anti gun unless the gun that killed him sprouted legs and crawled up onto his lap and shot him, without him pulling the trigger. If he had run a hose from his car exhaust and into the window and died from carbon monoxide poisoning, would she be anti-car ?

AAHHHHCHHOOOOOOO!  SNIFF SNIFF

Conservative to the Core!
Gun control means never having to fire twice.
Social engineering, left OR right usually ends in a train wreck.

the shadow

The bastard child doesn't know when to shut up. I agree with you Jarhead, guns don't kill people, people kill people; including one's own self. I'm assuming that the firefighter that committed suicide isn't the one that had the stroke. Looking at the online condolences, I failed to see yours Diane; or did you just cook up another big pot of I'm-Better-Than-You to feed the family? I love how people address others with food or a card and tell the loved ones, "if you ever need anything just give me a call." Anyone that has ever tried to put that to use will quickly find that avenue is now closed, as was the case with my wife.

And clinging to our guns and Bibles like we shouldn't be allowed to have them?  A Delaware liberal elite narcissist with seven or more guns (by her own admission), threatening to shoot people, certainly should have her own psyche called into question.

Sincerely,

Kent
