FREDONIA- Wilbert Walter Morgan, 88, of Howard, died Dec. 1 at Fredonia Regional Hospital.

He was born Feb. 3, 1901, on a farm northeast of Howard, the son of John and Lulu (Walter) Morgan.  He attended Elk County schols, graduating in 1921 from Howard High School.

On Aug. 23, 1925, he married Esther M. Wucherpfenig in Topeka.  The couple farmed in Elk County.

Morgan was a member of Antioch Methodist Church and served on the Antioch school board for many years.

He is survived by his wife of Howard, sons Robert and Francis Morgan of Howard and Donald Morgan of Winfield, two grandchildren and one step-grandchild.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Dec. 4 in Grace Lawn cemetery in Howard, under the direction of Zimmerman Funeral Home of Howard.
