Mildred "Maxine" (Woolaway) (Pickell) Tolle, age 91, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Kansas City Hospice House.  She was born August 11, 1921 at Oskaloosa, Kansas, the daughter of Roscoe and Lela (Shugart) Woolaway.

Maxine was raised in Oskaloosa, Kansas.  She lived in Elk Falls, Kansas from 1940 until 1965, at which time she moved to Topeka, Kansas.  Maxine owned and operated Maxine's Beauty Shop until retiring in the early 1990s.  She lived at Luther Place after she retired.

She is survived by her children: Marjorie Dalsing of Gardner, Kansas, Ed Pickell of Sheridan, Arkansas, Judy Hollis of West Monroe, Louisiana, Leo Pickell of Gardner, Kansas, and Geri Porter of Olathe, Kansas; one sister, Delores Wehking of Wichita, Kansas; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Glenn Woolaway; sisters, Mary Gregg and Dorothy Renyer; and three grandsons, Rob, Shane, and Steven.
