Hillary Gets 'Liberty Medal' After Lying About Benghazi

--American Thinker

What do you receive for getting four Americans killed in Benghazi, including our ambassador? Just ask Hillary Clinton.

On September 10--exactly a day short of one year after she and Obama allowed their own officials to die in real time--Clinton will be awarded the National Constitution Center's Liberty Medal.

From Constitution Daily:

"The Liberty Medal recognizes individuals who have furthered the ideals of freedom, democracy, and equality, often against great odds," said National Constitution Center President and CEO Jeffrey Rosen. "Hillary Clinton has devoted her life to expanding opportunities for 'We the People' not just in this country but around the globe."

As the 67th Secretary of State, Clinton broke national and global barriers. She was the first First Lady to serve in a presidential Cabinet...As Secretary of State, Clinton advocated for "smart power" in foreign policy, elevating diplomacy and development and repositioning them for the 21st century--with new tools, technologies, and partners, including the private sector and civil society around the world.

Here's "smart power" in action. During a Senate hearing, after the 2012 election, Senators asked the Secretary of State whether she had read cables coming from Benghazi requesting security; Clinton drew a blank. She replied, "With specific security requests, they didn't come to me; I had no knowledge of them."

If anyone is still wondering how a woman who lied to Congress and left four Americans dead can be honored with a liberty award look no further than the Chairman of the National Constitution Center, Jeb Bush.

Former Secretary Clinton has dedicated her life to serving and engaging people across the world in democracy...These efforts as a citizen, an activist, and a leader have earned Secretary Clinton this year's Liberty Medal.

Tell me, Governor Bush, what does Ambassador Stevens get for making the ultimate sacrifice? How about Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty? Will the families of the dead be present for Hillary's award? I am sure they will have a few words about Hillary's skill, courage, and dedication in supporting those who serve our country and put their lives on the line.

Since when does letting Americans die and then lying about it deserve a medal?

In the cesspool where corrupt politicians like Hillary and Jeb hang out, the more you mess up, the more you get rewarded! Recently, sex addict Bill Clinton received the Father of the Year award and a President who proved he gets off on drone strikes managed to pick up a Nobel Peace Prize before anyone realized he was a hawk.

So just ignore Hillary's terrible record as Secretary of State and ignore the ambassador and staff she failed to protect. Remember, that "Hillary Clinton has devoted her life to expanding opportunities for 'We the People' not just in this country but around the globe."

Impeach Obama rally causes 10-mile traffic jam

A TEA Party sponsored "Impeach Obama" demonstration on a major Southern California freeway overpass caused traffic to backup at least ten miles, as the organizer apologized for "any small inconvenience" drivers may have dealt with, as reported by the San Diego-based local news portal the Carlsbad Patch on June 9, 2013.

Flying a number of American flag as well as the TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party-adopted Gadsen flag, protesters flashed to motorists on the Interstate 5 southbound lanes in Carlsbad, California placards stating "Remember Benghazi," "Obama Lies" and "Amnesty Hell No!"

Organizers estimated between 25,000 and 30,000 vehicles would drive under the Tamarack Rd. overpass where the protesters set up shop.

By 12:15, the notoriously slow California freeway traffic had become a slow flowing parking lot from the protest site all the way back to the main gate of the sprawling Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base, ten miles distant.[/b]

Chicago Tribune Editorial: Where's the special prosecutor?

The IRS scandal demands an independent investigation

June 30, 2013

"It's inexcusable, and Americans are right to be angry about it, and I am angry about it. I will not tolerate this kind of behavior in any agency, but especially in the IRS, given the power that it has and the reach that it has into all of our lives. ... I'll do everything in my power to make sure nothing like this happens again by holding the responsible parties accountable ...."

— President Barack Obama condemning "misconduct" at the Internal Revenue Service,
May 15, 2013

All of us understand that IRS misconduct, right? And we know which parties Obama needs to hold accountable. It's obvious, right? End of story:

We learned at the get-go of this scandal that, during a long run-up to the 2012 presidential election, IRS officials extensively hassled conservative groups that had applied for tax-exempt status. Congressional Republicans pounced on this as an attempt to hijack the election.

But wait. Early last week we read that the agency used keywords such as "progressive" to target left-leaning groups, too, for extra scrutiny. "New IRS chief: Lists targeted more than tea partyers," said the Chicago Tribune. "Documents Show Liberals in I.R.S. Dragnet," said The New York Times. Congressional Democrats pounced on the suggestion that the agency had treated conservatives and liberals with equal indignity.

But wait some more. On Wednesday a Treasury Department inspector general undercut the equal-abuse argument: From May 2010 to May 2012, the IRS had flagged for added scrutiny six of the 20 applicant groups with words such as "progressive" in their titles. "In comparison, our audit found that 100 percent of the (292) tax-exempt applications with Tea Party, Patriots or 9/12 in their names were processed as potential political cases" — that is, groups possibly too political to merit tax-exempt status. "While we have multiple sources of information corroborating the use of tea party and other related criteria," wrote Inspector General J. Russell George, "including employee interviews, emails and other documents, we found no indication in any of these other materials that 'progressives' was a term used to refer cases for scrutiny for political-campaign intervention."

Translation: The IRS was overwhelmingly one-sided in scrutinizing applications. And the agency evidently was completely one-sided in subjecting only conservative groups to long processing delays and lengthy, often peculiar requests. Example: The IRS asked an Iowa anti-abortion group "how all of your activities, including the prayer meetings held outside of Planned Parenthood, are considered educational as defined under 501(c)(3) ...."

So that's where things stand — until fresh reporting, a document leak or perhaps a confession sends the story in some new direction. But seven weeks into this scandal, the fact most Americans know best is that ... they still don't know much that's definitive. The murky intrigue over who provoked what at this agency has become a playpen for politicians. Three among many crucial questions still scream for answers:

•Did someone nudge IRS employees to hassle certain groups or did agency officials spontaneously decide to do that?

•Inspector General George has testified that in June 2012, five months before the election, he told top Treasury Department officials of his probe into IRS targeting. Did his news, with its potential to rock the presidential campaign, stop atop Treasury — or did it make its way even higher in the administration?

•At multiple points in 2012, why did top IRS officials repeatedly mislead Congress by not disclosing — in response to highly specific questions — that the agency was targeting conservative groups?

We can only speculate on which tools will unlock the grimy secrets of this egregious misuse of government authority. An ongoing self-examination by the IRS is laughably untrustworthy. The U.S. Department of Justice also is on the case.

But as we wrote May 23, many Americans won't be much interested in what one arm of the Obama administration concludes about the conduct of other arms — the IRS, the Treasury and possibly the White House. There are times when only a special prosecutor has the independence and credibility to resolve such a politically fraught matter.

Why hasn't Attorney General Eric Holder appointed a special prosecutor? The White House, too, should be clamoring for one: The feds are only three months from enrolling Americans in Obamacare, a program that relies on citizens' willingness to have the IRS even more involved in the financial details of their lives.

We applauded when Obama said he would make sure there will be no such future scandal. But lofty pledges aren't enough. The president and his underlings ought to be instructing a special prosecutor to unravel the still mysterious scandal that confronts them today.

Al Nusra Front Says It Carried Out Suicide Bombing Attacks
With Obuma-Backed Free Syrian Army Units

(Congrats Obuma!  You are now officially a sponsor of global terrorism!)

Via LWJ:

The Al Nusrah Front for the People of the Levant, al Qaeda's affiliate in Syria, claimed it launched two suicide assaults and other attacks with Syrian rebel groups, including an Islamist unit and two Free Syrian Army brigades.

The Al Nusrah Front made the claims in a series of statements released on June 27 by its official media outlet, the Al-Manara Al-Baydha' Foundation. The statements were obtained and translated by the SITE Intelligence Group.

The attacks were carried out in conjunction with the Nasser Salahuddin Brigade, an Islamist group from the Syrian Islamic Liberation Front, and the Dera' al Assima, Liwa al Habib al Mustafa, and Liwa' al-Tawhid, three Free Syrian Army brigades that operate in Damascus.

The Al Nusrah Front said the two suicide assaults took place "in Eastern Ghouta in the countryside of Damascus" on April 22. Al Nusrah Front suicide bombers targeted two "barriers," or outposts, with explosives-packed cars.

"That was in order to open the way for the storming lions of the Al Nusrah Front and the Nasser Salahuddin Brigade to raid the two barriers and comb them," the statement said, according to SITE. The Al Nusrah Front claimed that "more than 150 soldiers" were killed and two tanks were destroyed in the operation.

Obama Calls Rubio To Congratulate Him On The Immigration Bill

(A call from Obuma should give him a clue that this was wrong... Recall time, Marco... you, and the whole damn "Gang of Eight")

Via Breitbart:

On Friday, President Obama took time out from his trip to Africa to call members of Senate's so-called "Gang of Eight," including Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), to congratulate them on the immigration reform bill that passed the Senate on Thursday in a 68-32 vote.

Obama was unable to actually reach Rubio. Obama also called Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH) to push him to take up the Senate's immigration reform package.

Jay Carney, White House spokesman, did not say what the president's strategy would be on dealing with the House over immigration reform. Carney added that the bill "enjoyed substantial bipartisan support in the Senate," and said that the president would make clear to the House "what our principles are and to provide the significant amount of policy expertise that we have, and data that we have, and to be as helpful to the process as we can."

Homeland Security Watchdog Accused Of Whitewashing Report,
Cover-Up And Fraud

(Watchdog not only not watching, but covering things up himself, allegedly committing his own fraud.  This is the Deputy Inspector General, because Clown Obuma hasn't gotten around to proposing another candidate that might call out his administration)

Via Daily Caller:
http://dailycaller.com/2013/06/28/homeland-security-watchdog-accused-of-whitewashing-report/

The man in charge of policing waste, fraud and abuse at the federal government's third-largest department has been accused of suppressing a politically sensitive report, violating anti-nepotism laws and misusing agency resources, according to a letter from the Senate Committee on Homeland Security.

Charles Edwards, Deputy Inspector General at the Department of Homeland Security and de facto head of the office, was ordered by Missouri Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill and Wisconsin Republican Sen. Ron Johnson to provide sixteen separate document sets related to the allegations by July 19.

"This is supposed to be the most transparent administration in history, but we're seeing a real pattern of this White House and their Secretaries applying pressure to inspectors general to whitewash reports," Johnson said in an interview with The Daily Caller News Foundation.

NFL Takes a Pass on Promoting ObamaCare

Earlier this week, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said that not only was her department negotiating with the National Football League to help sell ObamaCare, but that the NFL was "enthusiastically" considering it. Republicans on the Hill chimed in, noting that helping promote such an unpopular policy might taint the league even worse than the arrests of dozens of its players already does.

Well, they reconsidered. The NFL has punted, it has passed, it has kicked ObamaCare to the curb.

UPDATE: NFL Spokesman Brian McCarthy emails:
We have responded to the letters we received from members of Congress to inform them we currently have no plans to engage in this area and have had no substantive contact with the administration about PPACA's implementation.

The "no substantive contact" bit is an obvious slap to Sebelius. It suggests that she was lying about the league's enthusiasm for the project. Which she probably was.

For those keeping score at home, the Democrats' "winning week" has seen the Democratic President of the United States flipped the bird by China, Russia and Ecuador, and Obama's top health care enforcer turned down flat by pro football. He cluelessly described NSA leaker Edward Snowden as a hacker in an obvious attempt to downplay the severity of the leaks and to distance his administration from the lax security that allowed Snowden so much access to so much material. A court also found that Hobby Lobby doesn't have to pay ObamaCare's fines while it fights its abortifacient mandate. Nobody's really telling Obama "yes" anywhere. He's having to rely on a state senator who is destined to lose on an abortion bill in Texas to drum up anything "special" to talk about. That mob-won "victory" will be temporary and probably set the blue Texas project back several years.
