HHS Secretary Sebelius Begs Lobbying Group For Help Selling Obamacare

May 28 (Reuters) – U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius asked a group representing nearly 46,000 physician assistants on Tuesday to help persuade uninsured Americans to sign up for coverage under President Barack Obama's healthcare reform law.

As part of a politically embattled administration effort to rally support for the landmark reform law, Sebelius appealed to physician assistants as care providers who treat large numbers of people with little or no health insurance, including those in Republican-controlled states that have rejected the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

Sebelius, Obama's top healthcare adviser, has run into mounting opposition from Republicans [and demorats and Unions] over efforts to marshal private sector support for a public outreach campaign that could determine whether Obama's signature domestic policy achievement succeeds or flops, just as the 2014 midterm election campaign gets under way.

Republicans in Congress, who are blocking public funds for reform implementation, say Sebelius may have acted improperly by seeking private donations for a nonprofit group that will help lead a public outreach campaign this summer. The administration says Sebelius's actions were fully authorized by law.

"It's absolutely critical that we reach out to uninsured Americans and get them ready to sign up for coverage," Sebelius told a meeting of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, which has 46,000 members.

O'Rourke: Obuma Is Stupid.  Then, refers to a funny Hot Air item quoting Jane Meyer of the New Yorker, giving Obuma a pass on drone-strike kills because he shows how anguished he is all about it, thus flattering Meyer's own self-conception as "The Sort of Person Who Would Put on Shows of Anguish Over Drone Strike"s (while not objecting to them terribly much in reality)....

Then adds some commentary.... including an analysis of the self-flattering nature of David Brooks praising the impeccable crease of Obuma's pants.... then... somehow.... wraps it up with a video of "Earth Firs"t people moved by their own crying and howling and mourning a tree.    Maybe Ready-Aim-Duck can understand what this is all about, huh, Ready?

FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force Questioning Director Of

NEW YORK, May 29, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The FBI office charged with investigating terrorism has said it intends to question the national director of a chain of crisis pregnancy centers. The development is the latest in what pro-life activists have charged is a pattern of intimidation on the part of the Obama administration against pro-life activists.

Agents of the Joint Domestic Terrorism Task Force told Chris Slattery, national director of Expectant Mother Care (EMC) FrontLine Pregnancy Centers, only that they wanted to meet him "for a mutually beneficial relationship."

"In other words, if I don't meet with them, it will not be beneficial for me," Slattery told LifeSiteNews.com. "I'm not sure what I'm going to get out of it," he joked.

The questioning comes as New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has subpoenaed the group for not abiding by the standards of a consent agreement Slattery believed expired more than 20 years ago, as well as in relation to a question of some of its paperwork.

Krauthammer: Obuma Idle in Hours After Benghazi Attack 'Biggest Scandal'

The biggest scandal that President Obama has to face is the question of what he was doing at the time the attack on the Benghazi consulate in Libya was occurring, Fox News commentator Charles Krauthammer says.

For eight hours while four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, were dying, Obama apparently did nothing except make one call to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Krauthammer told Bill O'Reilly.

And even that conversation did not appear to be about what help they could provide, but rather about what story to concoct about the assault.

"He had a routine meeting at five o'clock. He never after, during the eight hours when our guys have their lives in danger for, he never called the Secretary of Defense, he never called the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, he never called the CIA Director," said Krauthammer.

"Who does he call? About five hours in, he calls his Secretary of State. And after the phone call, she releases a statement, essentially about the video and how we denounce any intolerance."

He added, "It looks as if the only phone call was to construct a cover story at a time when the last two Americans who died were still alive and fighting for their lives. There is a scandal. And that, I think, has got to be uncovered."

Obama may have promised "to hold the responsible parties accountable" for the Internal Revenue Service targeting of conservative non-profit groups, but one of the agents at the center of the scandal was recently promoted, an IRS source tells The Washington Examiner.

Through 2012, then-Exempt Organization Specialist Stephen Seok signed many of the intimidating letters sent to conservative nonprofits. For example, this January 2012 letter sent to the Richmond Tea Party demanded the date, time and location of all group events, as well as copies of all handouts provided at the events, and the names and credentials of all organizers. Seok also demanded the names of all speakers and the contents of the speeches they made.

According to WXIX-TV/Fox 19 in Cincinnati, Seok is no longer an exempt organization specialist. He has since been promoted to  "supervisor IRS agent."

Under the direction of Lois Lerner, the Federal Election Commission sued the Christian Coalition in the 1990s. She harassed the Christian Coalition for three election cycles. Eventually, she lost her case. At one point Lerner even asked a conservative if Pat Robertson prayed over him.

In 1996 Lois Lerner, the IRS official at the center of the harassment of Tea Party groups seeking tax exempt status, was head of the enforcement division of the Federal Elections Commission(FEC). That year Al Salvi was the Republican nominee for the US Senate from Illinois, his Democrat opponent was then congressman Dick Durbin.

During the final weeks of the campaign Salvi loaned himself over a million dollars to buy ads in the Chicago media market. This in turn prompted the Democrat party's campaign arms to file complaints with the FEC and in kind the FEC, specifically Lois Lerner, filed charges against Al Salvi.

That is when Mr. Salvi contends Lois Lerner made him the following offer, "Promise me you will never run for office again, and we'll drop this case."

Al Salvi refused that offer and would fight the FEC complaint against him for several more years before a Judge tossed out the complaint.

Soon after the IRS story broke, Al Salvi told Illinois Review that it was IRS official Lois Lerner who represented the FEC in a Democrat complaint against him. According to Salvi, Lerner was, without question, politically motivated, and went so far as to make him an offer: "Promise me you will never run for office again, and we'll drop this case."

Salvi declined her offer, and ran for Illinois Secretary of State in 1998.

But when he saw Lerner plead the Fifth Amendment before Congress last week, he recognized her. "That's the woman," Salvi said. "And I didn't plead the Fifth like she did."

These actions landed Lois Lerner at the IRS where she used the same tactics against conservatives and Christians – only on a much larger scale. 500 conservative and Christian groups were illegally targeted by the Obama IRS during her tenure. For twenty-seven months the Obama IRS refused to approve any Tea Party applications for tax-exempt status. At the same time the Obama IRS approved dozens of progressive applications.
