Despite more than three years to get the job done, the administration unveiled the Obamacare website despite a number of warnings that it wasn't ready for prime time.

That report from the Washington Post was released just after President Barack Obama held a campaign-style event at the White House to promote the health law and address its shortcomings...

Chung looked over the site and was stunned by the code and the cost – by some estimates, perhaps $200 million.

Chung continued, "At $200 an hour, that would be a million man hours, 5,000 man years. I don't think they had time to use 5,000 man years. So I don't know where the money went. I don't know what these people were doing. There're not that many web pages. I don't get it! Where'd the money go?"

Marino Rivera For President

If you're not a baseball fan, you might not know who Mariano -- Mo to his friends, fans and teammates -- Rivera is. He is the closer for the New York Yankees, the fellow they've been calling on since the mid-90s to protect leads in the late innings. Nobody has ever come close to being as good at what he does as Rivera. This past season, as he's announced his retirement, every team the Yankees have played against has honored him. Even the Boston Red Sox gave him testimonials and gifts. Several teams have given him checks for his foundation. And every member of the opposing teams has stood and applauded the man and his accomplishments.

But Mo deserves it. In addition to displaying unmatched talent for 17 seasons, he has performed under the largest spotlight in baseball with grace and humility. When people ask how this native of Panama has been able to pitch the way he has even into his 40s, he credits God first and foremost, and then mentions his family, his teammates and the Yankee organization.

When I saw him recently on TV making his farewell appearance at Yankee Stadium, I found myself wishing we had someone of his caliber in the Oval Office. Can anyone even imagine a Republican having a good word to say about Obama, who ran as a great uniter, but has spent five years demeaning the loyal opposition, accusing them at various times of being racists, obstructionists and traitors?

What I don't understand is how Obama gets away with arbitrarily postponing the Affordable Health Care mandate for business owners. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi keep telling us ObamaCare is the law of the land, but Obama keeps ignoring the embarrassing parts of it. According to the Supreme Court, ObamaCare is legal because they decided it's a tax, the very thing Obama spent two years denying it was. But if it's a tax, where does Obama get off insisting that only some people have to pay it?

It may not have been noticed in some places, but Obama, Biden and Hillary Clinton, all stayed away from Margaret Thatcher's funeral. However, Obama sent an official delegation numbering 14 when socialist dictator and all-around swine Hugo Chavez was laid to rest.

Although I rarely disagree with my friend Bernie Goldberg, he recently devoted an article to comparing the civil rights of gays to the religious rights of Christians. Bernie was entering the fray on behalf of gays, who had been denied wedding cakes and floral decorations by evangelical business owners who oppose same-sex marriages.

He pointed out that such marriages are now legal in several states, and that takes precedence in a nation of laws. I have a different take on things. One, I happen to think that if someone is willing to forego the profit, he should have the same right to withhold service as storeowners who refuse to deal with shirtless or shoeless customers.

In addition, there are always florists and bakers who would be only too happy to supply cakes and flowers, so it is hard for me to imagine that the homosexual couples wanted either as much as they wanted to create problems for those whose religious beliefs offended them.

Moreover, it doesn't seem that long ago that I was reading about Muslim taxi drivers who were allowed to refuse rides to people carrying packages out of liquor stores and blind people if they were accompanied by their Seeing Eye dogs. It just seems to me that Christians shouldn't have fewer religious rights in America than Muslims.

Recently, someone sent me a list of high-profile shootings. Starting in 1865, we had a Democrat named John Wilkes Booth killing Abe Lincoln. In 1881, a left-wing radical shot James Garfield. In 1963, a socialist shot John F. Kennedy. In 2010, a registered Democrat named Jared Loughner shot Rep. Gaby Giffords and killed six others. In 2013, a registered Democrat named Adam Lanza shot and killed his mother before killing 26 others at a local school.

The point being that guns don't kill people; left-wingers kill people.
In closing I will quote H.L. Mencken, who wrote: "The urge to save humanity is almost always only a false face for the urge to rule it" and Mark Twain, who observed: "Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect."

Nine senior commanding generals have been fired by the Obama administration this year, leading to speculation by active and retired members of the military that a purge of its commanders is underway.


Retired generals and current senior commanders that have spoken with TheBlaze say the administration is not only purging the military of commanders they don't agree with, but is striking fear in the hearts of those still serving.

The timing comes as the five branches of the U.S. armed forces are reducing staff due to budget cuts, and as U.S. troops are expected to withdraw from Afghanistan next year.

"I think they're using the opportunity of the shrinkage of the military to get rid of people that don't agree with them or not tow the party line. Remember, as (former White House chief of staff) Rahm Emanuel said, never waste a crisis," a senior retired general told TheBlaze on the condition of anonymity because he still provide services to the government and fears possible retribution.

"Even as a retired general, it's still possible for the administration to make life miserable for us. If we're working with the government or have contracts, they can just rip that out from under us," he said.

Retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely, an outspoken critic of the Obama administration, said the White House fails to take action or investigate its own, but finds it easy to fire military commanders "who have given their lives for their country."

"Obama will not purge a civilian or political appointee because they have bought into Obama's ideology," Vallely said. "The White House protects their own. That's why they stalled on the investigation into fast and furious, Benghazi and Obamacare. He's intentionally weakening and gutting our military, Pentagon and reducing us as a superpower, and anyone in the ranks who disagrees or speaks out is being purged."

A Pentagon official who asked to remain nameless because they were not authorized to speak on the matter said even "young officers, down through the ranks have been told not to talk about Obama or the politics of the White House. They are purging everyone and if you want to keep your job — just keep your mouth shut.

Feds ask Blue Cross Blue Shield not to release exchange numbers

FARGO – The Obama administration asked North Dakota's largest health insurer not to publicize how many people have signed up for health insurance through a new online exchange, a company official says.

FARGO – The Obama administration asked North Dakota's largest health insurer not to publicize how many people have signed up for health insurance through a new online exchange, a company official says.

During a Monday forum in Fargo for people interested in signing up for coverage via the exchange, James Nichol of Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota told the crowd his company received the request from the federal government earlier Monday. Nichol is a consumer sales manager for the company.

Still, a spokeswoman from Blue Cross Blue Shield says about 14 North Dakotans have signed up for coverage since the federal exchange went live Oct. 1. That brings total statewide enrollment to 20 – less than one a day.

Spokeswoman Andrea Dinneen said Tuesday that while Blue Cross generally does not release its internal sales numbers, it has in this case because the problematic rollout of the federal health care exchange is a "unique situation."

Dinneen said she didn't have any information about the directive that Nichol referenced Monday night.

An official from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, one of the main the federal agencies handling the federal marketplace, would not directly address questions about the request made of Blue Cross Blue Shield, including whether other insurers were also asked to keep quiet about enrollment.

Representatives from the two other North Dakota companies offering coverage on the federal exchange – Medica and Sanford Health – said they had not received similar directions.

Officials in many of the 14 states that set up their own marketplace, which includes Minnesota, have released some preliminary numbers. Minnesota officials said last week that about 3,700 had begun the process of enrolling for health insurance through the marketplace, called MNsure.

But in North Dakota and the 35 other states that let the federal government take the lead on the exchange, releases from individual insurers like Blue Cross Blue Shield are the only avenue to get enrollment figures until federal officials release statistics, likely sometime in mid-November.

The exchanges route health insurance shoppers to providers that offer plans that qualify for the various rules and regulations of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, often referred to as Obamacare.

In an interview after the Blue Cross Blue Shield event at the Ramada in Fargo, Nichol said he had no further information about the administration's instructions Monday.

Medica spokesman Greg Bury said the company had received enrollment files but had not yet verified them and thus did not have an enrollment count.

Sanford had enrolled six customers as of Tuesday, spokesman Darren Huber said.

Walid Shoebat tells Radio Host Jeff Kuhner of how he is now being harassed and spied upon by the Obama administration over the work he has done uncovering Obama's familial Islamist ties, especially his brother Malik Obama who is a supporter of terrorism. Shoebat said his phone is being tapped so they can listen into his house even when he is not on the phone. He said he has received harassing phone calls over and over and that a pre-taped, un-aired phone interview he had just recorded was played back to him on his phone just after he had finished recording it and hung up. LEE HARVEY OSWALD did NOT act alone – and The ENQUIRER can finally name the second gunman who fired the fatal shot at President JOHN F. KENNEDY from the grassy knoll in Dallas 50 years ago!
In a blockbuster exclusive, The ENQUIRER has learned that a Cuban exile with ties to both the Mafia and the CIA confessed to being involved in a conspiracy to kill America's beloved 35th president.

The startling new evidence was uncovered by re­spected author Anthony Summers, who revealed the assassin's identity in an update to his classic 1998 book on Kennedy's slaying, "Not In Your Lifetime."

According to Summers, the second rifleman was Herminio Diaz, a hired killer who worked for notorious Mafia boss Santo Trafficante Jr. in Cuba. Diaz executed a Cuban police chief in the late 1940s and likely committed 20 murders in his lifetime.

"Lee Harvey Oswald did not act alone," Summers told The ENQUIRER.

"There was a conspiracy to kill President Kennedy, and the same people who hired Lee Harvey Oswald – whether it was the CIA, the Mafia or Cubans opposed to Fidel Castro – also hired Herminio Diaz."

Diaz arrived in the U.S. in mid-1963, according to CIA documents, just months be­fore Kennedy was struck down in Dealey Plaza on Nov. 22 of that year.

"Diaz was a professional hit man with a record of political assassina­tions," Summers said.

"He'd also worked for Mafia chief Trafficante as security director of the Hotel Habana Riviera casino in Cuba.

"He was in the country at the right time and was involved in the anti-Castro movement. Many people in that movement thought President Kennedy had betrayed them during the CIA-sponsored Bay of Pigs invasion in 1961 and the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962, and had a motive to kill him.

"Frankly, it all adds up."

According to Summers, Diaz revealed his role in the Kennedy assassination to a friend named Tony Cuesta. The two men were headed to Cuba by boat on an anti-Castro raid in 1966 when Diaz spilled the details on the murder plot.

"Diaz and Cuesta talked on the boat while waiting to land in Cuba," Summers said.

"During their conversations, Diaz admitted to Cuesta that he'd taken part in Kennedy's death."

Diaz was killed in the raid. Afterward, a photo published in a Cuban Communist Party newspaper showed that he was carrying a valid Florida driver's license and a Social Security card when he died, evidence that he had indeed been in the U.S.

His buddy Cuesta was badly injured in the raid, captured and jailed at Cuba's infamous La Cabana Prison. While being treated at the jail infirmary, Cuesta confided Diaz's assassination story to another anti-Castro inmate, Cuban Rein­aldo Martinez. After his release from prison, Martinez fled to Miami, and in 2007 he contacted G. Robert Blakey, who'd served as chief counsel of the U.S. House Select Committee on Assassinations.

"Martinez thought he was about to die and wanted to set the record straight," Blakey told The ENQUIRER.

"After speaking with him, I believe he was telling the truth. It wasn't just Lee Harvey Oswald who killed Kennedy. It was a conspiracy, and Herminio Diaz was the second shooter."

Summers also interviewed Martinez for two days in Miami.

"Martinez had nothing to gain by telling his story, except for setting the record straight," Summers, who videotaped the interview, told The ENQUIRER.

"He told me he was close to death and was telling the story because, 'It is the truth – my truth.'"

Kennedy's brutal slaughter stunned America and prompted his successor, President Lyndon B. Johnson, to order a thorough investigation of the tragedy. According to the official Warren Commission report on the assassination, Oswald acted alone in shooting Kennedy.

BUT in the famed Zapruder film that shows the presidential motorcade moving through Dealey Plaza, Kennedy is first hit from behind, where Oswald was located in the Texas School Book Depository.

After that, it appears that Kennedy was hit from the front at an angle which would indicate a shooter located on the "grassy knoll."

One expert who's convinced there was a second shooter is world famous medical examiner Cyril H. Wecht, who's spent decades studying the assassination.

"Based on the available medical, physical and photographic evidence, all of which I've exam­ined multiple times, the assassination of President John F. Kennedy was carried out by two gunmen – not just Lee Harvey Oswald," Wecht told The ENQUIRER. According to his analysis, Wecht says two gunmen fired four shots, and one assassin was situated at the front of the motorcade.

"Based on the initial backward trajectory of the president's head after being impacted by the gunshot blasts, I believe a shooter operated from the right front of the vehicle behind the picket fence on the grassy knoll," he said.

"Eyewitness accounts corroborate this."

While the Warren Report discounted that scenario, multiple eyewitnesses told the same story to the congressional committee between 1977 and 1979, according to Blakey.

"At our hearings, there was lots of testimony that a shot was fired from the grassy knoll," Blakey, also author of the anti-mob RICO act and professor emeritus of law at Notre Dame, told The ENQUIRER.

"I believe there were four shots. The first, second and fourth shots came from the Texas School Book Depository. The third shot came from the grassy knoll.

"The committee had everything but the names of the people involved in the conspiracy. Marti­nez's story has filled in the last pieces of the puzzle. There were two shooters."

According to both Summers and Blakey, Marti­nez approached the FBI to tell his story but was told that the assassination investigation was closed.

And Blakey called Summers' discovery of Diaz's role in the assassination a "breakthrough of historical importance."

"Summers' book deserves to be read and taken seriously by all those who care about truth or justice," he said.

Summers added: "I completely believe the stories told by Reinaldo Martinez and Tony Cuesta about Herminio Diaz's role in the assassination of President Kennedy.

"Fifty years after the fact, their information has blown the investigation into the Kennedy assassi­nation wide open!"

Kansas navigators say they've enrolled no one in Obamacare

OSAWATOMIE — Zip. Zilch. Nada. Nil. None.

Slice it any way you want, the answer is still the same: Obamacare navigators told Kansas Watchdog that, because of continued problems with HealthCare.gov, so far they've enrolled exactly zero people into the new federal health care exchange that went live more than three weeks ago.

But the consortium guiding the Sunflower State's health care advisory program is trying to look on the bright side.

"They don't have to provide that information to us in the report for another month or so, so we don't have any real good numbers at this point," said Katrina McGivern, communications coordinator for the Kansas Association for the Medically Underserved.

So, hey, at least they've got time. Any bets on whether HealthCare.gov will be up and running by then?

Now, this isn't to say there has been a complete dearth of enrollments. Both McGivern and Linda Sheppard with the Kansas Insurance Department say insurance companies have confirmed enrollments are happening, just not through navigators, though no specific number has been provided.

That doesn't exactly inspire a whole lot of confidence.

So, as it stands, the hundreds of Kansas navigators created, trained and rolled into action courtesy of a nearly $900,000 federal grant have been wholly unable to accomplish their primary goal of enrolling folks into Obamacare. McGivern said many are focusing on educating people for the time being.

Jill Foss, a Hutchinson-based navigator with Prairie Star Health Center, said the rollout is a work in progress.

"I wouldn't call it frustrating," Foss said. "It's a little bit disappointing."

Valerie Libertus, a navigator with Flint Hills Community Health Center in Emporia, has kept busy filling out applications in preparation for when the federal exchange gets on its feet. So far she has tallied 15 applications – 11 filed electronically, four filled out on paper.

But Sayre Schuck, a Hays-based navigator with First Care Clinic Inc., said she has put off processing physical paperwork in hopes the electronic exchange starts working soon.

"I just think the paper applications are going to take longer (to process)," Schuck said.

Lyle Dotson, a navigator in Dodge City, said most of the people he sees give up and say they'll try again in a few weeks after hearing about the federal exchange's enrollment problems.

"I've got one (application) to the final stage where it says review and sign but then the system locked up on me," Dotson said.
